^^^ I'm pretty sure it fits, since there was no change in the door design or the mirror bracket. Only different is that it has the integrated turn signals built-in in the mirror housing. It's pretty much as easy as removing your current mirrors and putting on those ones on. And you're gonna have to run different wires for the turn signal.

Damn, 75$ is a steal. Are these OEM?

Hey, I think ebay has some after market mirrors alot cheaper than OEM if you want to go that way, check back on some of the early post and there's some other places to get them.

Try check out this sites. All aftermarket though. If your gonna go OEM, you'll have to shell out big $$$ for it.

No factory heated mirrors on the 2012s, although the sports do have turn signals

I want the integrated turn signals. I don't need heated mirrors in az haha. I found the mirrors on rockauto.com. They are oem I believe. Yeah the fit ment I know is the same I am just trying to see about the wiring part of the mirror since it won't be a straight plug and play design.

If I'm not mistaken they sell aftermarket parts

Also wiring up the turn signals is easy, just 2 wires, ground the ground wire on the door somewhere and run the 1 power wire from where you tap into from behind the knee panel into each mirrors turn signal and done

So run it to the fuse panel for the turn signal? ^^

I wish I had a blank switch in my truck...I'd totally put this on the "to do" list.

...if only there weren't so many nannies in the truck that you need switches to defeat.

I did this mod last year using the 2010 4Runner mirrors w/puddle lamp. Looks great. Thanks to Jerez for the ebay link and pictures of his set up. The covers were black semi-gloss. This was the color I wanted but now the tops of the mirrors are fading from the sun beating down on them.
I have a question...will the 2012 Tacoma mirror covers fit the 2010 4Runner mirrors? Last few digits of part number are different. Wondered if anyone has tried this? I read back through the posts and could not find this anywhere. I figure I would try to get the super white (040) color match covers and then paint the current 4Runner covers black again.
The main reason for 2 sets of covers is that I am afraid of breaking the tabs during removal. Thanks in advance. Any help appreciated.

The size is the same, but aftermarket to oem idk if the clips for covers will line up or even clip in for the matter.
I have also thought the same because I wanna do something different with mine

    Hey Jerez thanks for responding.
I know... it would suck to spend $75 for the two just to find out the clips don't line up. Have you taken the covers off since you installed yours and if so how hard was it. Any tips or suggestions. I have tried to remove mine but stopped because it is a tight fit and feels like they want to break.
Your truck is looking awesome btw...

It's actually pretty easy to take them off with out damaging the covers.

First pop off your mirror lense, pulling up gently from the bottom until it pops off.
How it looks like from the back. You can see how it attaches to the motor.

Now you can see the inside of the assemly and how the cover attaches to the mirror assy. Red circles indicate how the cover locks to the mirror motor assy. You can use a flat head screwdriver to release the tabs. That's pretty much it.

Thanks for the pictures adio...that looks like a better way of removing the covers than just prying them off like I was trying. So looks like I pull out on the bottom half of the mirror, then pull down so the brackets slide out from the top... correct?

Hey Jerez, have you tried this? Once the mirror is off it looks like you might be able to rig something up to help with the mirror shaking. My drivers side is shaking as well...I just live with it. It's not to bad.

Yups, exactly like you said. Just be gentle when you're pulling that mirror.

I believe you have the OEM mirrors...right? I have the aftermarket ones. Think the mirror bracket is the same?
I'm going to give it a shot anyways, covers need a paint job.
    Thanks for your help man!
