Sure...honestly the mirror looks and functions just like the OEM Tacoma mirror. Motor inside and the mirror mount plate is different than OEM though.

Your post here reminds me that I need a new grill...

So I'm kind of screwed. The 4 runner mirrors have a different bracket then the 2012+ tacoma apparently. The mirror will not mount on its holder. Any ideas of what to do

As far as I know. I just purchased them off a member here a week ago. I guess I should hunt down some older tacoma mirrors and use the mounting plate?

If you bought the set in that listing then they are definitely aftermarket.

 

Yea I did. So I guess I'll have to buy another set of kool vue mirrors for the mount plates. The 2012+are expensive. I wouldn't see an issue with the 05-11 fitting. They're the same as far as I know

 

Actually if they were OEM the metal bracket from the stock Tacoma mirror would mount right up to the 4Runner mirror.

Only reason why I asked is when I looked at your pic that mounting spot where the bracket is suppose to mount to doesn't look anything from what I could remember when I did this mod.

 

No, they're not oem . I was quick to buy them because of the good deal. I have to get another set from kool vue to make these work. Unfortunately the 2012 are about 100 a piece. I might gamble and get the 05-11 ones and hope the plates are the same

 

I'm 99% certain these are the ones I bought that mounted up but my eBay account purchase history doesn't go back that far. But I did find the item shipping email and the eBay seller was/is AM-Autoparts

8 months later...mirrors still perfect and heat well.

My only regret is not swapping the puddle light bulb to a whiter colored bulb while I had them apart and the covers off.

So I'm going to order those listed above since I destroyed my stock mirror trying to get the plate out lol. I wonder what size those leds are? Might as well order some too if you say they aren't bright. Anything else you can think of. Maybe make the wiring easier?

Does anyone have good pictures of how much light is placed on the ground from the foot lights? I found one on page 12 but that's it. @Jerez, is all the ground light in this picture from the foot lights alone? and if so did you use a specific led to obtain that? thanks for any help.

 

yea its only from the foot lights....and i honestly dont remember what and where i got them
