i like this truck it sit on 16 inch wheels has a 5spd
just a little curious about the "prerunner" label over the sr5 on the back tailgate??
does it have a different suspension than the reg access cabs sr5's or bases ??
i have the button with the truck with the curvy lines below it that says "off"
and a couple buttons over is one that says "rsca off"

did not look fo a manual and there seems to not be one
    any info would be appreciated
    loving driving a manny again
and liked having the side curtain air bags as well over not on a similar 4cyl 5spd

my specs from the toyota certified site

my q's are mostly about the auto/rsca stuff and what susp diff's i have over a 15 inch wheel base model
my trd offroad cat back exhaust is not gonna fit huh?
are there any exhaust/susp/power upgrades for the 4cyl's that are worth it?
we did cut our payment way down and the around town mileage should be better with the 4cyl and the manny so that's cool

    thanx all

rsca is the "right side curtain airbag" you shut this off when you go offroad so it doesnt kill you if you flip over.

auto LSD, is the auto "limited slip differential" which uses the brakes to electronically control wheel spin

VSC is vehicle stability control. in order to shut this off you have to stop and hold the button for 5 seconds, every time you start the truck.

its a 4cyl, not a lot of exhausts sound good on it, but you may want to go with an AFE pro dry drop in air filter

    Build thread coming soon!
650H1 is close, but RSCA stands for "Roll Sensing Curtain Airbag", not "Right Side". When you turn them off, both sides turn off.
The traction control button has 2 modes:
Press quickly- anti-slip icon illuminates (same symbol as button, with OFF below it), AUTO LSD illuminates. This allows "posi" style traction for moderate snow/mud conditions by using the rear brakes to create even wheel speed between both back wheels. Stability control will still intervene if the truck fishtails too much.
Press & hold- anti-slip OFF illuminates, TRAC OFF illuminates. This turns off stability control altogether. No Auto LSD function in this mode.
Prerunners are, for all intents and purposes, 4x4's without the actual powertrain conponents for 4wd. Springs, hubs, brakes, etc. are all the same

"Prerunner" is simply a 2wd with the same suspension as the 4x4.
You have spring-over-axle in the rear, and different front suspension components, with 6-lug hubs.

    The non-prerunner 2wd has 5-lug hubs and spring-under-axle.

For aftermarket suspension parts, you will have parts common to the 4x4.

cool so the riderites might shift over if i want them
is it worth getting better shocks on this truck? i do a bit of driving through to some moto trail heads
but basically an afe drop in and maybe better shocks and that should be it .
no lifting or 4x4 conversions here i think prob just a winch up front then

    thanx all for your input

Why would you want an aFe? Keep the OEM paper.

it was suggested and i checked around and did not find any big bad reviews

not much diff between afe drop in and oem then??

i am now looking for a nice set of those air deflectors so i can roll down my window and not get killed by wind noise.
started running ear plugs on my moto's and noticed a difference in the ability to concentrate on other stuff without all that crap wind noise
about to get a set of custom ear plugs from someone up here

They don't filter nearly as well and will contribute to the engine becoming an oil burner as it ages.
The stock system flows more air than any normally-aspirated engine needs.

i found i thread with a decent deal on wix's which is what i have been running in my ktm 520 as most modern d/bikes only carry around 2 quarts so you use synthetic and change often

i plan on driving this truck for a long time
and yes it is 6 lug 16's with leafs over axle
and i would guess something better in the front than a reguler base model
a little easier to get to what "dispersed" camping is left in this once great state.
if you do live out here watch out for and complain loudly when you see "wilderness study areas" just another way to lock up what else is still accesible
