You did a great job. I really like the tweeter placement near the window. Was it all worth it? Does it really make everything sound better?

I'm very interested in doing this but am trying to get everything worked out prior to doing it.

As far as drilling the hole, are these the steps you followed: Take the panels off first, put the speaker adapters/brackets on next so you could see where the speakers will ultimately line up, then drill a small hole in the general area of the panel the speaker should be, then replace the panel and look through the hole to get an idea of how far you need to cut out the circle, then cut out the circle?

Did I miss any big steps? Also, what kind of tool did you use for this?

I guess I'm going to have to research speakers that have grills! Also, I really appreciate you responding. Your photos and info have helped me a lot! Just trying to work up the nerve to cut the panels open!

Debadged tailgate - Limo tinted windows - Sockmonkey bed decals - Fully custom upgraded stereo 9 speakers w/custom built subwoofer box 1200 watts total power - swapped white and blue LED gauges - integrated backup camera - removed front mud flaps - All interior lights swapped with LEDS
Sounds 100% better and to me it was well worth it.

Yes exactly, I drilled a small one first(used my tweeter holesaw) then cut from there up to about where i had an inch or so left to cut. Checked it again and then did my final cut. I Used a compass and a jigsaw to cut the big hole, then just sanded it down real good. For the tweeter i used the proper sized holesaw. Just go slow, you can always take off but you can't put back.

i believe the door skins are still cut for rear speakers on the new access cabs. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Really though, the best thing to do is replace the factory deck and front speakers. It'll make a huge difference with just a new head unit alone. My truck lasted 2 days before i swapped out my entire audio system with alpine and jl, i couldn't stand it
