When I bought my truck it came with a roadside assistance certificate. Supposedly if the truck is disabled for any reason within 1 year of purchase Toyota (Corp) will pay to have it towed to the closest dealer for repair and will reimburse expenses incurred by the owner, if out of town. I keep it in the glove box, but have never had to use it.

What's your point? I believe 1 km equals about .62 miles; making 300 miles about 482 km...

Its 1553.427 miles.... according to google.

Sounds like the truck was maybe in a flood or something.
Broken windshield, water in the tranny?
Where did you get the truck and where are you driving it?

I have another thread and i'm getting 'slipping' at around 60mph on the first drive of a morning. It's obvious that my 6th gear is taking a slow dump.

From my understanding the UK has officially switched to metric but still display all traffic related signage in imperial units. Maybe the cost to purchase new signs were too great.:)

I did manage to snap a couple pics of it being towed, so if your really interested in that, I will post them tonight. The windshield I didn't get a pic of but if you can imagine a perfect semi-circle crack on the windshield about 2-3" ( ok, seems like I need to NOT use metric here) from the bottom, above the defrost vent, thats what it looks like. Then it cracked on the edge of that shortly after. Seems like bad glass to me.

I just called the dealer and asked them to look into that and they said they would. I believe once they see it, it becomes very obvious that it was no rock chip that did it. However I am wondering if the truck was PDI'd properly upon arrival a the dealer.

So far, my dealings with them have been very good. They phoned for my rental car and the manager said my warranty will cover all expenses for the rental except for gas, which, for a Yaris, wount add up too much anyway. Even if it is 300 MILES, and I'm switching back to imperial here cuz after my first post I realized most of you reading this do not use the metric sys.

Don't get me wrong, I have no posts here but have been reading the board long before I bought my truck. I did my homework and this forum was critical in making the decision to get my Tacoma, even tho I was favoring it comming in, I always research the shit out of any thing I ever buy.

I love this truck and have always wanted a Toyota pickup so I'm not letting it discourage me providing the level of service is there and and they fix me up right.

At any rate, I wanted to vent a little, share the experience, and just get a line on whether this has happened to anyone else. I'm enjoying your replys!

I Will keep this updated with more to come as I soon as I know.

i find it easier to multiply by .6

not exactly a perfect conversion, but close enough and easier to do in my head.

My 2009 with only 8200 miles, today was the second time the automatic trany was slipping. Very low speed, it must be the first or second gear. I had the transmission "re-flashed" over 3 mounts ago. V6 auto.
Anyone else had this happening after re-flash?
    Thanks
    vbibi:(

I have to believe you've just had a run of bad luck. The trans will get fixed on Toyota's nickel, perhaps the windshield as well. Get them fixed, drive the truck and then make a judgement.

    GOOD LUCK!

You get pretty exact if you divide by 8 then multiply the result by 5.
