Anyone get theirs yet? Is it really just these 10 questions that are asked? That's better than I would have imagined from .gov.

Still, I think we are only going to answer 7 or 8 of them. I fail to understand the real need to ask some of them, like questions 6, 8, and 9. Sex and race should have zero bearing on how laws or voting districts are constructed, imo. I'm very surprised that economic questions are missing from it.

Haven't gotten mine yet...was annoyed that they sent a letter 2 weeks ahead of time telling you that the census survey is coming, total waste of money, don't like to see our tax money spent in a wasteful way like that.

There are two forms. One is simple and the other is more involved. In 1990, I received the longer form.

i agree. i sent my senator an email asking why they sent it, and if they could send me a letter telling me that my tax booklet is coming, a letter when they recieved my tax return, a letter when it was processed and a letter to let me know they were going to send me a check.

I did some rough calculations and came up with a cost of $31 million to send that stupid letter.

Filled mine out last night and mailed it today. I swear I filled out the longer version of it last summer and sent it back. I really don't know why I had to do it again???

Got my pre-census letter last week & thought the same thing, "why am I getting this?". :notsure: Great idea to send a quick email to my state's senator & representatives. Will do that.

OT, great avatar hillbillynwv. Watch that movie back to back last night on AMC.

Hey they are just trying to help out the US Postal Service. Can you imagine all those people get laidoff and go postal? Lives have been saved on yours and mine tax dime!

Got it and filled it out.
Only take a few minutes with the short form.

Haven't mailed it because the question on the census is "Who and how many are living with you on April 1."
    April 1 isn't here yet!

Maybe I'll get lucky and get someone extra here but otherwise it isn't hitting the mail until after April 1.

I don't care for the census, I just filled out how many people live in my house and turned it in.

I did mine last week, First time I've ever had to do one. I was really suprised at all the questions asking if I was a minority or hispanic. WTF does that have on me being an AMERICAN? Does my district/city get more money if so? I agree also that its a total waste to send letters in triplicate telling you theyre sending it, have sent it, recieved it and processed it.

What you did last summer was not the census. It was the American Community Survey: http://www.census.gov/acs/www/

Just another way the government invades your privacy and violates the constitution.
