2010 DCLB TRD Sport Rear Springs Replaced, seems low in back and softer

    White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
    My truck was bought new the last day of 2009. Has 89,000 total miles on it.
    Originally, as delivered it came with the 2+1 rear springs.
    A couple years after purchase, prior to the harsh ride TSB and the broken rear spring puncturing the fuel tank recall, I replaced the springs with almost new 3+1 oem springs off another Tacoma that had aftermarket springs installed.

    So for many years, likely 10 years, I have been running the 3+1 oem springs. No issues.
    Knowing the springs can fail, today I had the spring recall for spring breakage done.

    Compared to the 3+1 springs previously run, the rear end seems softer and sits a little lower.
    The new springs installed today are also 3+1 style.

    Pretty sure the rear is about 3/4" or more lower now.

    Anyone else notice this if you had springs swapped out.

    There were 2 different sets of leaf springs that were used in the recall. One set for trucks that had the harsh ride TSB and a standard leaf pack recall. You likely received the softer pack of the 2.
    See page 3 of document regarding part numbers of the 2 packs:
    You need the "mexico/canada" springs p/n 34404.

    Well that does explain it. Just checked the invoice they provided for the warranty / recall work and the softer springs were installed.
    Now to decide how to proceed.

    Wattapunk, thank you! Contacted dealer, discussed the info you posted. They agreed the wrong springs were installed by mistake.

    Dealer order the firmer springs, today they were installed. Huge difference. Truck now has less wallow about feel to the back end.
