Nah man, it gets too hot down here for leather seat covers.

Thats about what my 2010 drivers seat looks like too. When I decide it needs fixing I'll go the upholstery route since its not just the cover thats degrading but the cushion material inside as well, which of course an aftermarket seat cover will do nothing to remedy.

Also, and I haven't looked into this for a while, but the last time I did I seem to remember that it was a bit difficult to determine whether many of the seat cover options were safe to use with the airbags that are in some our seats...

Upholstery shop or new seat? That thing looks mint! How long did it take? We need answers!

I notice your s/n says you're a firefighter, do you by chance wear a radio on your belt? I have noticed stuff like that including cell phone holders will really wear out a seat. Also if you have any pockets that have velcro, it will mess up the fabric if it rubs it.

Original OEM seat cover installed by a local automotive upholstery shop. It looks mint because it is all original!

It took them a few hours to do it. I dropped off my truck in the morning, so it didn't really matter too much to me. I got it back the same afternoon.

I have the tint everywhere but where it matters: front windshield. My steering wheel sometimes still gets top hot to the touch, and my seats are permanently exposed to the sun. Leather seats are just not my thing.

I used to be, but I rarely carried anything in my belt while in the truck. Besides the excessive wear it just isn't comfortable. This particular damage was from me sliding into my lifted truck for years.

Nice! Thanks for reporting back. Did you do the seat back too, or just the bottom?

Just the bottom. The back cleaned up back to its original shine using the extractor I used.

This is why I put seat covers on my truck the first week I got it back in 2010. More than worth it.

I keep a bath towel folded in half on my seat, I've done it for every vehicle I've owned. I put a fresh one in about every two weeks.

Just some dumb regular crap everyone else has
This is exactly what I do. ^^ I have a 2009 Civic EX-L with 140K miles (L = leather). Driver seat looks brand new, no rips, no tears, and no wear marks. On my Tacoma, I put Clazzios and they still look new after 3 years.
