Trucks messing up and what better place for info than tacomaworld.

    2010 Double Cab 63k Pre-Runner

Problems started about 2 weeks ago.

First thing that happened was the air conditioning started acting up. Would come on then cut off for a few seconds. Had started becoming more frequent and now it comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off repeatedly. Very annoying when coming back to a hot truck after 12 hrs of cutting grass.

Last Thursday nailed a guard rail at around 20-30 mph head on. Minor damage to bumper. Don't wanna talk about it lol and I don't feel like it's the cause but just in case.

Drove the rest of Thursday and truck sat in driveway Fri-Sun. Monday I drove her to work and after driving about 30 minutes the gas pedal went unresponsive and rpms went down to 1k for a few seconds, then pedal would work again. Happened a few more times on the way and a few more on the way to my buddy's.

At my buddy's I noticed my taillights stayed on even after lights off keys in pocket doors locked etc.

Drove her home, and every 200 yards the pedal was not working. Taillights stayed again.

Couple of hours later drove her up the road and the pedal was still messing up but the lights cut off with the truck this time. Still sitting where I parked last night, figured I should fix it instead of keep driving lol

What's going on with my baby??? Lol

I have a 2010 DC, 4WD Off Road, and it just turned 63,000 miles. NO PROBLEMS... I hope it stays that way. Please report what the auto electric tech or Toyota tech finds out is wrong. Sounds like an on-board computer went on strike!!??

I don't know about the AC problem, but...

Check the brake light switch down on the brake pedal lever. It may be triggering the unresponsive throttle** and the rear lights on when the truck is off.

** With the current programming if the brakes are depressed at the same time as the throttle it will drop the throttle for the "Unintended Acceleration" issue.

I think JIMMYH may have something. The stuck gas pedal mod makes the gas pedal go unresponsive if you are pressing the gas and the brake. If you're brake light switch is sticking, this could very well explain it.

Secondly, is your fan issue happening on speeds other than HIGH? If so it could be the resistor or the resistor plug issue that is common.
