    Just picked up my 2010 Prerunner DC SB TRD Sport last night and got a locking gas cap today. Stant 11504. It certainly fits, although the threaded portion that goes into the filler neck is a little longer. I haven't driven with it yet but I will follow up since I have read of CEL issues with locking gas caps on some model years of the Tacoma.

    TRD cat back exhaust, rain visors, limo tent on back pasenger windows and 35 percent added to back factory tint window. 35 on front driver and pasenger side. Sport pedals, all weather fl mats, roof rack, front skid plate , BFG ALL TERAINS including spare. ALL installed by dealer.
    Please let me know, I would love to get a locking gas cap for mine. I think all auto's should have them. My 92 had a locking door on her.

    I don't know about the 10's, but my 09 used the 10504(same thing as 11504), so I'm assuming it will work. The only second gens that do not use the 10504 are the 08's. With the CEL, I've gone 1,000 miles and have had no problems with it coming on.

    Double check to make sure you're unable to remove it (without unlocking it.) On my 07 the first caps that Stant came out with were a joke. After finding out it could be removed without even useing the key, I took it back and they said Stant was aware of the problem and redesigned them...the new version works great, and never had an issue with the CEL coming on.

    i don't understand why they didn't get rid of the gas cap all together!
    the new fords have them and they have these tabs in the neck that only allow the filler door to be opened when the nozzle is inserted. they come with a funnel attachment for filling up via jerry can
    its pretty awesome design, and no more cash grabbing emission test centers failing your gas cap every damn year...

    I drove to work this morning (only 15 miles) and no CEL. I'll update with more time/miles with it as well as checking to make sure it can't be removed without the key.

    Had mine on from the first day and never had a problem. Kept it when I traded the FJC. Worked well on that also.

    Everyone either has the Stant or Fram locking cap. Ive read that Stant had a flaw in their design and the only review on Amazon.com for the Fram one said you could open it with any key. I just want one that doesn't open WITHOUT the key. Any suggestions for an 2010?

    I have no complaints with my Stant. See below for how many times I have opened my gas cap (didn't have Fuelly for the first five or ten fill-ups).

    Bilsteins set at 2.5" OME Dakar rear leaf packs had to make rear shock extensions, FJ manual TC
    Mine could be opened without the key, I fired them off an e-mail they said they weren't aware of a problem but would send me another cap for free to try. See pic the grey one is bad the black one is the good and does not come off without the key, haven't driven it yet but I'm sure the CEL will be fine.

    What about the Stant 11509? I think its supposed to fit my 07 Tacoma...

    The very few $$ that it would cost them to do this that most of us would pay gladly for they look at it as $$ saved times number of units built which adds up to a lot of corporate $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
