Hello all- I have a 2010 access cab with about 49,000 miles on it. I currently have a topper with a camping set up (wooden platform/storage) and have a bit of a 'taco lean' in the rear. I bought the truck in may with about 39k on it from an elderly man who really took care of it. Since the suspension itself hasnt had much excessive driving/off road/trail driving, I am wondering if I could get away with just an AAL in the rear and wait til the current shocks are beat to do a full suspension replacement, front, rear, leafs, etc. I dont do a whole lot of off road/trail driving, but I do on occasion while camping. Also would just like to get rid of the rear end lean. If just AAL, what brand is the go to/ suggested? LMK, thanks!

Toyota lean is usually on gas tank side. Hard to say without pics but seams like your rear shocks and or springs might be worn. Then look at Bilstien b6 shocks. Dakkar leaf packs are solid, but having custom springs made is also an option.

I bought a 2010 V6 4x4 auto w/ cap in Feb. 2019 w/ 79k miles. In March of 2020 I received a recall notice on the rear leaf springs and had them replaced at no charge. You should at least first check and see if this was already done. Thx

Yeah, you probably have a broken leaf on one side on the rear. I had that condition when I bought mine. Call dealer to see if your truck qualifies for leaf replacement. If not, go on Craigslist or FB marketplace and buy a set of used 4 leaf packs. Plenty available since so many replace with aftermarket leaf packs for lift kits.

Thanks for the heads up on the recall, Ill reach out to them about the possibility. The 'taco lean', I wasnt aware that it was referring to the gas tank side. I was referring to the tail end of the truck sagging due to the added weight, assuming the stock leaf springs are no good.
