Texas A&M fans and donors are upset that A&M decided to stay in a "watered-down" Big 12 instead of joining the "best college football conference in the nation", the SEC.

 

Since the trend to go to 16-team conferences died, there's no reason for the SEC to do anything. The conference may have been courting A&M at one point, but unless somebody takes an SEC team (which is REALLY unlikely), we won't be inviting anybody else into the conference.

Aggie fans can be mad if they want, but it probably wasn't ultimately up to A&M whether or not to move to the SEC. If there aren't going to be 'super-conferences,' then the SEC isn't going to push to become the first. We've got it just about right the way we are.

Tx A&M- It's not that they decided to stay, they didn't get invited to join the elite SEC. If the SEC were to lose a team, Texas would actually be the first choice as a replacement, then possibly the Aggies.

 

Aggie fan is delusional. No way the sec was going to take them unless they could bring Texas or oklahomo. Texas is the team any of these conferences really want anyway. Super conferences are not done yet. I say within the next 5 years there will be at least 4 16 team conferences.

 

I agree... it's done for now, but not for good.

You'll make the PAC 10 better. Colorado, not so much. At least they'll have 12 teams now and play a championship game. Every conference that wants to be considered a real conference should do that.

Couple of stories I've been hearing today...

The first probably doesn't matter to anybody but me, but the Georgia State game has been moved from Saturday to Thursday to give Alabama a longer break before the Auburn game (Friday after Thaknsgiving). Auburn has a full two week break before the Iron Bowl. Thanks to GA State and their coach, former UA head coach Bill Curry.

The second isn't a big deal nationally, but it's being covered a lot regionally. The UGA Athletic Director was arrested for DUI last night. Apparently he's in a jumbotron message before each game asking people in the stadium not to drink and drive. The name of the campaign is "Zero Tolerance." Any way this guy keeps his job?

Just got my 40" LCD tv and my HD receiver will be here thursday. Big step up from my 5 year old 27" piece of shit.

 

I've got it sitting on a table in front of my entertainment center right now. I've got to cut out a center support so it will fit. Hope to have it done tomorrow. I'll get some pics up.
