2010 NCAA Football

I think the reason you don't hear as much about James is that nothing is still hanging over his head about it. There still seems to be things hanging over Cam's head... lots of questions surrounding him. When there's speculation, there's a lot more to talk about.

The James story isn't changing. It happened, he paid his price, it's over. With Cam, something seems to change daily, if not hourly.

A buddy of mine and I were talking over lunch... if none of it's true, Cam is getting HOSED! If he or his dad did do something wrong, we wish it would just come to light and get over with. It's getting really old.

 

Yea it is getting old. Everyday there is something new. It's alot of he said she said bs. They gotta have something to talk about other than football.

Ha he does have a loud mouth but if those guys are sayin tht Oregon has beaten teams just as much as auburn or anyone else in the sec it's ridiculous. Sec does have better more unpredictable teams playing against each other and Oregon has been playing nobody teams lately

Not teams like chatanooga but Alabama, LSU, auburn, Arkansas, and south Carolina. All games are unpredictable

 

"SEC Guy" is an act (hopefully that's pretty obvious) by some guy out of Houston. He started it making fun of SEC fans, but it's still hilarious.

The Auburn Rivals site has already investigated and found out who leaked the information. Some who works in the video department of the UF football program. Don't know how he would know, but his brother made a post on the Rivals Main Board several days before the story broke. When he was asked how he knew, he said "i have a very good source at UF". I guess he thought he couldn't be tracked, but it didn't take long to find out who he was and that his brother was on the UF staff.

 

Sounds like the cheating and stolen laptop issue at Florida are the least of Newton's worries. Now the FBI is speaking to people in regard to the " pay to play " issue. It sounds like Cam Newton's dad was basically shopping him to the highest bidder. I guess this means though Auburn would be clear as far as NCAA sanctions go if it is proven his dad even shopped him then Newton is ineligible and therefore Auburn is going to have to vacate every win in a game that Newton played. You hope the allegations aren't true because it sounds like it has been all on Cecil Newton and Cam knew nothing.. What a screw job by his own Dad...

 

Listening to the radio down here has been really entertaining all week. This story has taken so many twists and turns. We're 24hrs from kickoff of tomorrow's game and I'm not sure I know who will take the field at QB for auburn. Probably Cam... but I wouldn't bet much on it at this point.

 

Sports attorney Don Jackson commented on this yesterday. He represents cases like this and said there is no violation unless money changes hands. He also said you can bet that if Auburn has been playing Cam, they've been told everything is clear by the NCAA.

I don't know how much credibility the NCAA gives this Kenny Rogers fellow anyway. He totally changed his story from last week. But if what he said was true, he just screwed his alma mater over big time. He's a booster in the eyes of the NCAA, also classified as an agent.. and he says he's at dinner with a recruits parents and 2 coaches? Nice job guy. That's a big no no.

 

That Kenny Rogers seems to be a dirt bag. I heard a different story in regard to the shopping someone for money deal but who knows. I hope you are right assuming Cam didn't accept money, you would hate to see him get screwed over something he didn't do. With the FBI being involved now though I am afraid there has to be some type of information that is credible, they are supposed to be interviewing Kenny Rogers too. I don't think Auburn has a choice now as far as playing him, they may as well try to run the table and deal with whatever comes later if anything... This is being really played out now because of the whole Reggie Bush thing, at least that is my opinion.

 

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive finally commented on this. He's obviously not happy with MSU.

Did you see this part.....The NCAA has said "the solicitation of cash or benefits by a prospective student-athlete or another individual on his or her behalf is not allowed under NCAA rules." Potential withholding conditions are based "on the type and scope of the violation, as well as the student-athlete's responsibility," according to the NCAA. "Any mitigating circumstances are also considered."

It looks like they could still punish Newton and Auburn if they so choose, though the caveat is the "Any mitigating circumstances are also considered" part. I find it amusing that all the SEC schools involved in trashing Cam Newton all also have major NCAA violations in their past.. Amazing that they are going after Newton and Auburn during a potential BCS Championship season..

 

Reluctantly, I officially have joined the club. I could not believe the shellacking that went down with K-St. It will be an uphill battle this weekend against OK St. but you know what OU still sucks!

If Auburn was 5-5 right now you would have never heard about this. And it will come back to bite MSU in the ass because there is no way they come out of this with no penalties. This is a big time MSU problem. Auburn has yet to be accused of anything. I'm kinda shocked most of the media has ignored this.

Auburn's compliance people are absolutely top notch and because of this Auburn folks are very confident everything will be okay on our side. I won't be surprised to see Kenny Rogers in jail before this is said and done.

And another interesting note.. Kenny Rogers son signed with Nebraska out of high school, he left there after 1 year and went to JUCO. He committed to Texas Tech (coached by guess who) 4 months ago. It's being reported elsewhere that Tuberville pulled his scholarship offer this week.
