Boise St will open the 2011 season against UGA in the Georgia Dome! I want tickets. I doubt my Dawgs will be down like this year. I hope not at least. I want to see the SEC dominate them...i dont care whether it's UGA or anyone else.

You'll be getting them at a good time, even if Moore returns, he is losing his #1 WR in Pettis and #2 WR in Young. UGA has one of the top young QBs in the game and I got to see him in the UGA / FL game in Jax this year. He'll make Bulldog fans forget about Stafford in a year or 2. But don't underestimate Boise State - they seem to be good year in and year out.

Yea...Murray is a lot better than Stafford, I believe. He's made some freshman mistakes along the way, but, he's a freshman so that's understood. I'm kinda hopin for an NFL lockout so we can get back the best receiver in the nation for one more year. Boise seems to be pretty good...but again, they don't play anyone. I'm convinced they haven't seen a defense with the speed they'll see from an SEC defense. I'm gonna try to find some tickets to that game. Could be a barn burner. But like I said...I hope we blow em out and end that national title talk early for them.

Jamie, They decided to play at Wrigley because Allstate who is based in Chicago put it together. The problem is that the goal post in one end zone was directly against the brick outfield wall about a yard out of the back of the end zone. The coaches and the Big Ten commish looked at the field and decided it was unsafe because there was basically no " run off" area behind the end zone. The tickets where already sold and they couldn't move the game so basically the team on offense is playing towards one end zone the entire game. On change of possession they re-spot the ball and head towards the " safe end zone. How pissed would you be if you had seats in the other end zone and now no plays will head your direction... They really screwed the pooch on this one, anything for a buck and free publicity... SCREW ALLSTATE... LOL

it was definitely a bonehead call to have it there to begin with. i guess no one had a measuring wheel to see if it'd actually work. they said the last football game there was in 1938....hmmm, wonder why?

There were 365 NFL Games played there before they stopped. But they played North-South. The field on there now is set up East-West.

Some other rule changes for the game

    1) defense players must count 10 Mississippi before rushing the QB

2)if there is an odd number of available student-athletes, Northwestern sophomore Evan Watkins will be the "all-time" quarterback.

    3)Three completions = first down

4)Instant Replay is being replaced with "Do Overs" for plays needing further review or subjected to a coach's challenge.

5)any defensive return of a ball (fumble, interception, etc.) being returned toward the west end zone will stop at the 5-yard line -- which is marked by a 4-foot pile of old tires to the north and The Widow Corbin's driveway to the south -- and count as a touchdown.

6)you yell "car" if you need a timeout

7)"Suckers walk the field" after each score

But since it was in the 20's and 30's they weren't so concerned about safety in the leather helmet era... I am amazed like Jamie said they didn't measure and figure out a " safer" configuration prior to looking like tools in the national media... On a positive note it will be an "interesting watch"..

I did see that, it was probably a make up call for the face mask they didn't call on Iowa when the db clearly got Corey Brown by the face mask on an incomplete pass. Though I have to admit that is my opinion because I am a Buckeye...

Sure hope this Cam Newton deal gets resolved soon. If it turns out hes guilty and Auburn gets the closest thing we've seen to the death penalty this guy might be looking for a job. And lord knows we've had pretty good luck with Auburn coordinators in the past.

Latest report down here is that coach boom and major are putting an ultimatum to Mack Brown. If he dosent fire Greg Davis they are both gone. And coach boom being the the next head coach wants input on the decision of who replaces him. I guess we are about to find out if Mack Brown is serious about retiring soon or if his ego has gotten bigger than the will to win.

3 more days til the iron bowl. I think cam newton and auburn can definitely win but Alabama won't go down without a fight. I'm guessing around a 7 to 10 point victory over the tide. Hope I'm right but no one can ever really predict an sec rivalry game. War Eagle!

I've seen people saying that he should get a big pay raise this year, and that he might be a head coach candidate, too. I can't really argue with 11-0 so far, but I think he should go next year w/o Cam and see how high his stock is.

I realize that it's a road game for auburn, and I realize that we have a pretty good team, but I've been surprised that we're favored in Vegas, and a lot of national media guys are picking us.

I hope they're all right, of course, but I've been surprised at all of the predictions.

What the???? Auburn hasn't been accused of anything. Auburn is not under NCAA investigation for any wrongdoing during Cam Newton's recruitment. Worst case scenario is the NCAA rules Cam Newton ineligible because another school offered him benefits. There is about a .01% chance of that happening. Think people still fail to grasp this concept. Albert Means was eligible at Memphis after an Alabama booster gave money to his high school coach. Basically the same deal here, except that no money actually exchanged hands.

it will get resolved in about 5 years when Cam Newton is long gone like the Reggie Bush deal. Auburn wants the BCS crown NOW. And Cam will play every game despite the allegations.
