And if he is ruled ineligible, auburn forfeits every game he has played in. Auburn is also risking major NCAA sanctions by playing him when they know there are possible major infractions involved. When auburn played Georgia, the sec or ncaa (cant remember which one) even sent a recommendation of newton not playing since he and his dad were in the middle of an investigation. And where do you get this .01% that hes guilty? If they can even prove cecil newton attempted to solicit money, cam will be ineligible.

It just sounds like from a different perspective that anyone who isn't an auburn fan, especially alabama fans, are still talkin about Cam Newton and how he shouldn't be playing. It just seems like a lot of jealousy or something that auburn is having a pretty good season plus if anyone noticed those accusations didn't happen til late in the season anyways. If it was true, why didn't they come forth near the beginning of the season? One word...Jealousy. Mississippi state is just pissed bc they didn't get a hold of Newton

The NCAA stuff is going to shake out when it shakes out... No sense in holding our breath. I'd much rather beat auburn on the field than hope for the jokers at the NCAA to come back and vacate their victory over us.

If we can beat the tigers on Friday, we can end the worry that another NC will *possibly* be vacated, b/c I don't think a 1-loss auburn team goes to the NC. Normally I would think a 1-loss SEC team has a shot (especially since there's only 1 more undefeated team from a BCS conference), but I think that there will be voters who use an auburn loss as cover to vote the tigers low enough that they don't make the NC b/c nobody wants the *possibility* of a vacated title.

Auburn is not risking any NCAA sanctions if no extra benefits were discussed between Auburn and the Newtons. And I have no idea where you got the idea the NCAA recommended to sit Newton against UGA. If they did, he wouldn't have played. Period.

Where did I say there is a .01% chance he is guilty? I said there is a .01% the NCAA rules him ineligible. And I was being generous. The NCAA rule book says once an extra benefit is offered to an athlete, he's ineligible at that institution. That's the part everyone is missing. As long as Auburn offered no extra benefit to Cam Newton, or no money was discussed (which hasn't even been alleged), he is eligible to play at Auburn University.

FWIW... I work with a guy who has a friend in the FBI office in DC. Said that his friend told him they have wire taps of McGregor, Lauder and Dye talking pay-for-play and a certain auburn QB.

No... I don't actually believe that...

Must say, it's a good day to be pulling against the war eagle. Need them to lose here, and in the SECC.
