That's fine with me when it comes to Tennessee. See...I live right on the GA/TN line...and most of my friends are UT fans...so along with our beatdown of UT this year, I can make fun of em for this and for LSU.

 

The whole "excessive celebration" penalty has gotten out a hand by some refs.

They certainly dicked-over K State. They weren't being consistent about calling excessive celebration in the Music City Bowl, but how did they dick over UT? They got the call right at the end of the game. The pass just before that where the guy speared the UNC player might not have been a catch, but it was close and there wasn't enough to overturn.

AND they didn't call a late hit in the last couple of plays when the UNC player had been tackled, and that UT thug came through and clocked him again.

I'm with you... If UT wins, at least the SEC looks good, but I sure do enjoy watching them lose.

My Google-fu is failing me... I really want a picture of the Tyler Bray throat slash after the OT TD pass. I want it right next to one of him crying like a bitch baby after he threw an interception that lead to their loss in double OT. That guy is such a douchebag.

And speaking of douchebags... what in the hell was up with that gay salute all of the UT players were doing after every play? Anybody remember the Friends episode where Ross hurts that little girl scout and has to go around selling cookies for her? It looked like the salute the little girls did in that episode.

The UT band needs to learn a second song. Rocky Top for first down, touchdown, interception, sack, defensive stand, punt return, throat slash... etc. Really f'ing annoying. At least it has good lyrics... "Go to hell, Tennessee!"

Woke up to the Clemson/USF game. Not sure what it looked like before the last few minutes, but the Tigers did a pretty impressive job to make a game out of it in the end.

 

We did do a good job of getting back in it, but it was a one sided game up until the last 2 mins.

And as far as the excessive celebration penaltys. They need to get that shit figured out quick. As of next season if they flag a player for excessive celebration before crossing the goal line it gets brought back to the 15yd line.

To be fair, all the flags for unnecessary roughness and helmet to helmet is in the NFL. The NCAA is still pretty lenient about that kind of stuff, but it is just a matter of time before they start doing something to combat the problem. But the part of your post i bolded I found a little distasteful. I myself was a HS Football and baseball player and I think it is ridiculous to put yourself and your fanhood in front of the safety of 19-23 year old young men. Obviously football is a dangerous sport and everyone is aware of that, but I do not think it is wrong for the NFL or the NCAA to care about their players safety. Concussions seriously affect your brain, not just in the short term, but long term as well. There is a point in time where you have to sit back and realize this is a game and players cannot be making ILLEGAL helmet to helmet hits that are ruining not only players careers, but their well-being as well.
