It's been a long time since I've posted. I'm thinking about a new (newer) vehicle. Possibly another pickup, maybe a hatchback. Anyway, what to do......trade in (that usually doesn't go all that well) but no muss or fuss with people coming to the house and whatever other issues that come up like getting money together. I might try to sell it myself though. Anyway, checking KBB, my 2010 shows a "private party" value of $13K-13.8K. Trade in $12,400. NADA shows "rough trade in" $17K, Average trade $18K, Clean trade $19K and Clean retail of $22K. Prices seem to be all over the place. I checked Ebay and the cheapest 2010 Prerunner was at $20K and some were at $26K.
I thought I'd post this hoping someone would have a real world knowledge of what this truck is worth tapping into their personal experiences. I realize there are many factors that change everything. My Prerunner has 108000 miles on it (truly highway miles). V6, SR5, hard tonneau cover, black, ext cab, automatic. Original owner.

KBB seems to be the most widely used price point when selling and buying. I would go by that.

Now, I would list it above the value just to give room for negotiation if selling it privately.

Yeh, KBB is probably more realistic. Some of the quotes from NADA seem kinda high. You could probably buy a new Tacoma for around the prices that NADA quotes. Thanks for your reply.

I feel like something is off if KBB and NADA are giving you THAT wide of differences. I would double check and make sure that you're entering everything in correctly to both sites. Also, make sure your zip code is taken into account - vehicle value can vary from region to region.

Also, on EBay, you can actually do an advanced search and search for ONLY listings that have actually completed. That will tell you a lot - guys can ask whatever they want for a truck, but that will show you what people are actually paying.

Let us know what ends up happening!

I noticed with NADA that your choices don't actually match up with what you've got. For example, they only list a fiberglass cap. I don't have that but I do have a fiberglass toneau cover so I checked that box. Also they list a tow package(hitch) which I checked but really the tow package and hitch came with my SR5 Prerunner from the factory. But still, a lid verses a cap and a tow package wouldn't add up to that big of a difference. Thanks for your reply.
