It's amazing how people still advertise fluted barrels as being more rigid when there has been no proof to support this.

Removing material makes the barrel less rigid. Ask any of the custom barrel makers.

What the LWRC rep should have said is that the fluted barrel offers a more rigid barrel compared to another non-fluted barrel of the same weight.

That said, LWRC makes a nice 'production' rifle.

I need to research the LWRC upper receiver with the side charging handle (no standard rear charging handle). If it uses standard barrel nut threads, I might get a stripped upper (with BCG) to build a Space gun for High Power match rifle category.

 

Imho, they are the nicest production rifles ever made.
