What usually causes automatic transmissions shifters to become stuck in park? I have had no other issues with the truck.

    Hi,
All of the above, plus does the key rotate and the and the vehicle start? If you can't turn the key to start the steering wheel interloc may be jammed with pressure from the wheels being turned all the way to the stops or from being up against a curb or parking stop, in a hole etc. if the key won't turn try forcefully turning the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. Don't force the key but you may have to put some major effort into the steering wheel. If you are applying enough effort to the steering wheel you will feel income up against the interloc pin in both directions.

This only happened one time. Everything works fine since I used the override. I recently plowed through a deep snowbank, and I'm thinking that might have caused it.
