Seriously, the rally Escort is nowhere remotely close to a production car. think NASCAR. F150 and Taurus sales volume has nothing to do with greatness or quality. long-term those things are shite. The OP might be having some issues with his '10, but comparatively he's got a better vehicle than any ford. Sure, if he wants bells n' whistles (nav, heated nut warmers, etc) then get the ford. but long term quality and resale he got the right truck

Sounds like you bought a peice of shit. I'll give you $1000 for it right now and we'll both be happy.

I picked up my '10 DC LB last month and already got 4K miles on it. My biggest complaint is that sometimes my girlfriends multi-racial neice rides in the backseat and that causes the value of the vehicle to drop drastically.

Oh, and the backup lights on the truck kinda suck too. But I'm about to fix that.

320 Kbps is the max bit rate for the compressed MP3 format, CDs are roughly 1.4 Mbps but the difference is nearly unnoticeable.

...I agree, i believe iTunes' (assuming iTunes was used) default bit rate for MP3 is 96k or 128k and those are considerably lower in volume than 320.

I had a 1997 Taco and now my 2009. The 2009 has some features that I wish my 97 had. However, the 97 was a better built truck IMO.

I feel the light pickup market is ass. You either overpay for a Taco or buy a crappy Ranger or Colorado. Nissan's are not too shabby as well. But for the price difference I am going Tacoma.
What we need is for somebody to make a light pickup that shows Toyota that they are leaving thier back door open.
You don't post the losses that Toyota has been doing and not cut a corner or too.

Don't get me wrong. Until someone builds a Taco-Killer I will be in a Tacoma.

I have a 90 Toyota truck, had an 02 Tacoma and now have an 07 Tacoma. I'll say the 90 was made tougher, less creature comforts. The 02 was well made durable and had tons of nice interior stuff, the 07 is larger and same quality as the 02 pretty much atleast. But still less of a solid truck than the 90 model. However never did I feel any of these would fail me when I needed them. Very tough trucks just depends on what you want to do with them. The Radio AC basically all the interior stuff is nicer and more luxurious on the 02 and 07 than the 90 but for wheeling the 90 is bad ass. Not that my 07 isn't. Bottom line they are different and i'll agree some quality has fallen on the Tacomas but compared to other trucks there is no comparison.

I just don't understand why you guys bought it knowing it lacks certain features. It's a truck, not a luxury SUV.

Buying something and complaining about stuff you didn't realize is one thing, but it's completely different to complain after buying something that doesn't have features you wanted. Land Rovers have all those features I'm sure, go shop for one.

I have a 10 DC 4x4 LB and have not had any issues as of yet. I do have to say that it is not in the class of a ford F-150, they are different in every way and are not comparable. The Ford is great and so is the Tacoma. I dont do the knocking the other people or products out there, just be satisfied you have options to choose what you drive ie. ford toyota chevy nissan dodge.

I just traded my 05 ford f150 it was a big comfy truck but it had a ton of problems. 20000 miles had the cam shafts go bad,4 wheel drive wouldnt engage and the rear dif was leaking. After having the top end rebuilt under warranty the motor always tapped real bad at start up and talk about bad fuel milage 10 to 12 mpg .They all have there problems

The bitrate has nothing to do with the volume level, only the compression of sound quality... ... You can, however, adjust the volume level when compressing or recompressing a song.

Rangers are made by Ford, Mazda's B-series trucks are made by Ford with some slight anesthetic changes done by Mazda. The engine is purely a Ford.

Oh No! My 165,000 mile Plymouth Neon is garbage? What about my Dad's 225,000 mile Neon?

Mine has gone eleven years and all those miles without any serious problems--when should I expect it to fall apart?

(Caveat: Mine is under repair right now. I hit a deer at 70+ mph, and popped the airbags. It needs a hood, fender, and radiator--but that shitty unibody frame is in perfect shape. I guess I should've bought a Corolla--then the deer would have evaporated as the spirit of Kiichiro Toyoda protected the car from all harm.)

I took the list of standard Tacoma features in to the Nissan dealership and asked them to quote me a Frontier with the closest available options.

If I recall correctly, the big sticking point was stability control and side curtain airbags. They couldn't find any within 1000 miles that had both. They finally found one, in New Jersey (1400 miles away), but they would only match the Toyota price--despite having a $3,000 rebate on Frontiers at the time.

I just switched to a 2010 taco after having a 2001 dodge ram 1500 for 170k miles with no issues the whole time (other than the 10mpg). I'm hoping to get 300k+ out of this one!!

X1 on crank up the volume on the iPod, those tires are a joke, one of the reasons I went with the OR vs. the Sport, tires suck on the OR also, just not as much.

I just purchased a 2010 TRD, DC and have had not issues. Turn the volume up on the MP3 as well as the head unit. Tires and XM radio you should have noticed on test drive.
Vibrations will be taken care of, just give them a change.
Hope things get better for you!

So it sounds like the F-150 gets constantly compared to over in Tacoma land too...

I've notice on the Frontier forums that anytime someone has an issue with their truck they say there going to trade it in on a F-150. Its funny cause you think it would be a Toyota and it is some times, but more and more its the Ford.

I posted a thread over on clubfrontier on why everyone thought the F-150 was so great. If you didnt know better you would think it was the answer to all the worlds problems.

    F-150 for the next president!

Nukes are coming our way, quick get the F-150 out!

To me its just another half ton truck, nothing more and nothing less. My buddy has a rental one right now and the dash says "Built Ford Tough" everytime its started. Just in case you ever started having your doubts. Brainwash? Its got 6,000 miles on it now and and first he thought it was the greatest thing, but now he's noticed some ticks and squeaks coming form the engine (the redlines and burnouts didnt help I'm sure) and the mileage is crap. He's ready for his 4cyl Hardbody to get out of the bodyshop so he can afford to drive it.
