2010 Tacoma driveshaft recall

    Reviving this thread for any that aren't aware of this recall, because I just got the recall notice today. Mine was built in 1/10, and purchased 4/16/10

    I guess my question is, if they knew about the potential defect since at least February, wouldn't they replace any shafts on trucks that hadn't been sold yet, before selling them?

    At any rate, I have around 1800 miles, and I'll probably wait until my 5k service to have them check it out, unless I start noticing anything strange going on before then, of course.

    Thanks for reviving this thread!!! It's an odd coincidence this is the first I've heard of it AND I got a nice letter from Toyota in the mail today addressing this very thing. Truck was make Jan '10.

    Maybe this is a bit of a newb question, but will I have to be in 4WD in order for the prop shaft to break and fall?

    what I have read is I'm Safe Pick-up my apirl 30 2010 and also 4X2 drive
    so if was a recall on my truck It was allready have be fixs.

    so i called the dealership today and gave them my vin...
    they said my truck doesnt have nothing wrong with it...
