2010 Tacoma Lift Help

I put my deposit down on my brand new Super White 2010 Tacoma TRD Sport Package with Long Bed on Friday. I want to get it lifted before I take it off of the lot.

I am looking for a good 3" suspension lift. I will be using my truck primarily as my daily driver with occasional off roading so I want it to handle well in both scenarios. I will be putting 32" or 33" tires on it with 18" wheels.

I would appreciate any help that you all could give me.

 

coilover lift upfront forsure.

 

Who makes a good coilover kit?

add-a-leaf? or a new leaf pack from like deaver or alcan

expensive. get an aal unless you offroad alot and dont tow then go with an alcan or deaver pack

toytec ultimate lift kit is 1k with front coilovers and rear aal

 

i just did the ome lift and it's great. $1000 installed.

 

1000 bucks 300 bucks to have someone else install it for you why didnt you do it? that would be 300 more bucks to spend otherwise on your truck

Do any of these lifts void your warranty?

 

only if the problem is directly caused by the part. you do suspension mods everything but the suspension and possibly powertrain because driveshaft angles get changed a little bit go out the door. but they still have to prove that your suspension is what caused the failure.

 

Alright cool. That was a concern about lifting it. The drive shaft angle shouldn't change too much on a 3" lift should it?

 

everyone experiences differences. it shouldnt but a large number of people experience shakes which are easily fixed by driveshaft spacers and shims that come with the toytec ultimate lift kit. those 2 items help with the issues

 

They have to be able to prove that the problem was caused by the lift. What lift really depends on how much you want to spend. We did the install on my OME and it is pretty easy to do an install.

 

I'll take a look at some toytec stuff.

What do you guys think of the Tuff Country 3" lift kit?

 

i think the tuff country is a spacer lift and people try to shy away from spacers and lean more towards aftermarket springs and shocks for their lifts

 

If you want to go as cheap as possible, I suggest just saving your money until you can get an OME set up. I think its $700 for the kit.

 

I'm going to stay away from the Tuff Country set up then.

I just looked at the Ultimate Lift Kit from Toytec and I really liked the set up.
