Hey has anybody else experienced a heavy rattle at low rpms while in gear. Very loud and annoying not sure what it is but figured I'd ask on here and see if someone could give me a place to start looking. It only happens between 1500-2100 rpms. I know it could be a million things but hey it doesn't hurt to ask. Truck is a 4cyl manual transmission with roughly 55k miles.

I found a couple old threads that said to check brackets on catalytic converter and run premium gas. The first sounds fix sounds like a good place to start. The premium I'll try but I'm not holding my breath

Check your heat shields on the body as well as the ones on the exhaust. I get rattles and clanks from time to time and it always ends up being a heat shield that's rattled loose.

    Probably heat shields.

I've had to add washers to nearly all of them as they've rusted through.

All it takes is one and it will rattle like hell at idle or 1-2 gears.

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna get under the truck this weekend and see what I can tighten up. Hopefully I can get this taken care of. The rattle is driving me insane
