Kinda looks like theyre working off the tacoma though - i bet this isnt a Hilux but a 2012 tacoma... ya know..? I think i'll love it if that becomes the truth.. then i wont be jealous of the 2012 tacoma people!

My favorite year of the tacomas were the 1998-99s. my brother and my buddy has one.. i love it. Hate the interior though.. but the size and look and stance.. everything.

It looks too "nice". Not very aggressive lines at all.

^ Plus a steel bed, and fully boxed frame. 31mpg is probably imperial gallons tho.

The Hilux is pretty far away from the Tacoma. They share very few parts. The next gen Taco wont be a Hilux. And they are odd looking. Especially in base form. The only decent looking Hilux is the Crew Cab 4x4 TRD. Diesel would be awesome here in North america! But can image the price??? Over $40 grand at least!!!!!????????

From http://www.toyotatruckfans.com/ The 2010 Toyota Tacoma is perfect for those who seek a compact pick up loaded with the latest technological features. The Tacoma exterior remains unchanged for 2010, but loads of new entertainment and comfort features make their presence felt inside the cabin. :)
Like its predecessors, the 2010 Tacoma comes in three cab styles – Regular, Double and Extended Access Cab. Each of these choices offers an array of configurations.
Toyota has implemented a new Electronic Throttle Control System with intelligence (ETCS-i) in the 2010 Tacoma, further optimizing fuel consumption. Gear up Toyota fans – the 2010 Tacoma’s 4.0L 236Hp V6 mated with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission is expected to deliver even better performance on and off the road.

So nothing is really changing. ETCS-i??? Just means they remapped the computer controlling the fuel injection. The HP output numbers are unchanged.

I'm surprised i haven't seen anyone swap out an inline 4cyl Hino diesel into a taco yet
If they can fit an I6 Hino diesel in a tundra, surely someone can fit an I4 (probably even the 6) into a taco

Wow the Hilux has got a killer interior judging by the pics. The US always gets the shoddy interiors on our cars.....:(

Eewww. The Taco now looks sofly squared and big in the front. It looks masculine.

But this new one looks too tame and not blocky. This looks too wimpified.
