    have a 2010 Tacoma, 6 cylinder automatic Crew Cab.
    Want to tow a 4,000 pound trailer.
    Any comments?
    Recommended modifications?

    You'll want to be running trailer brakes and a equalizing hitch with a setup like that. Also you'll want to have the factory towing package. You'll also find a lot more info in this section.

    I would also upgrade your existing brakes with better pads and stainless steel lines. 2 tons is just about what your truck weighs so you will feel your boat pulling your truck on inclines and declines. Make sure you can stop it.
