Never had a starter or a alternator last more then a year that I purchased from a auto part store. An auto electric shop or a well known brand from Rockauto is the way to go for rebuilt starters or alternators IMO.

My 2005 Prerunner V6 went out at 225,000. Bought Denso OEM from dealer for $311. Just turned over 320,000 and loving it. I don't take chances with made in China.

oem for the v6 with tow is a denso 130a, right? The sticker on mine burnt up and I can't see it. Rockauto has a denso 130a re-man.

As its almost time on my 2009 for an alternator I was reading the posts and then looked online at options for all of you as a lot of uninformed info.
All ones I looked up were for 2009 (so 2005-2013) and with tow at 130A. Good hunting!

    1. Only Toyota remanufactured replaces all internals such as rectifier and voltage regulator at about $300 plus your core #27060-0P020-84 . New ones are hard to find as no castings made still and #27060-0P020 at $385 and up new but good luck finding one.
    2. AZ has New Duralast Gold at $231.99 lifetime and remanufactured at $163.99 plus core $45 lifetime.
    3. Advance has CARQUEST reman at $163.99 plus 35 core limited lifetime and a Denso reman at $224.11 plus 65 core only 1 year warranty.
    4. NAPA has Bosch reman at $175.99 plus 89 core with 2 year warranty and a Denso reman $203 plus 85 core 1 year.
    5. O'Reillys has Ultimate reman at $167.99 plus 35 core limited lifetime.
    6. Amazon has a ton of who knows ones New but good luck no real names or ratings I saw.
    7. Carid has Denso reman $117.54 plus 79 core 1 year, AC Delco reman $183.71 plus 62 core 2 year, and New AC Delco add a pulley at $300 no core 2 year.
    8. Rock Auto has a bunch, Denso reman $126.99 plus 84 core 1 year, the AC Delco reman at $180.79 plus 62 core 2 year, New AC Delco at $290.89 no core 2 year, then a New Remy at $200.79 and Remy reman at 82.79 plus 60 core (I have no info on the REMYs quality).

#6-8 shipping may be added you have to figure that out yourself.
Prices were as of 9/29/2009 online before any discounts or coupons used so you can probably get better deals as I have never gotten less than 20% off online at Advance and 25% sometimes. Pricing errors are my fat fingering and too bad, get a local price at your favorite store to be sure as always - this is only a help tool.
A final note is once you buy any of these they are yours as electrical and exchange only due to defects - not oh I decided something else was better

Hope that helps a few of you.

shipping from rock auto for a denso is less than $20. My dealer wants over $400 for a re-man denso, double the price for the same thing. Wow

I helped a friend replace his 100 amp alternator which had less than 75K miles. It was only putting out 12.6-12.9V and eventually killed his high end AGM battery which according to the manufacturer requires 14.1 minimum.
He bought the 130 amp rebuilt O'Reilly brand. It puts out 13.9-14.4V. I wasn't to impressed with the rough looks but is holding up so far.
His alternator fuse is 120 amp but hasn't caused any problem yet. We upgraded the ground but that probably did nothing.
I asked for the original to rebuild but he wanted the core refund. I agree with the original equipment being the best.

All the parts store new and reman units all come from the same place. And, are better than they were 5-10 years ago. I have had better luck with part store parts (starters and alternators) than outside rebuilt units. Your Ozone alternator will be just fine. Plus, if it does go out, you carry it into any Ozone and get a new one. Can't do that with a rebuilt unit. I try to use Denso whenever/where ever possible, but even those are bad out of the box occasionally. I'm considering one of those 'Mean-Green' alternators once I start overtaxing mine.

I just ordered part number 27060-0P020-84 from toyotapartsdeal.com. it is oem, and according to them, it is BRAND NEW, not reman. I asked the guy 3 times if it was new or reman. It better be new, it was more $$ than rockautos reman.

I don’t know Romans name on here. But he’s a Toyota parts guy, he would know. But from my understanding the -84 means reman

The diff between other remanufactured are, let me copy from my post #29 above:

Per Toyota sites and other online sites: "1. Only Toyota remanufactured replaces all internals such as rectifier and voltage regulator at about $300 plus your core #27060-0P020-84. New ones are hard to find as no castings made still and #27060-0P020 at $385 and up new but good luck finding one."

So the remanufactured Denso and others use the old rectifier and voltage regulator and test that they still work. The New Duralast and AC Delco would have all new parts. Post #29 lists the warranties I found on all too. You decide what you want.
