actually I don't beleive its true. The fact is that the TRD cai is NOT 50 state emissions approved where as the supercharger IS 50 state approved. You put those togethor and now you have an Unapproved performance package that is not compliant. Toyota can't warranty a "race part"

Ok so I just heard from TRD Sparks that the TRD cai is nowCARB legal and is also CARB legal with the TRD Blower.

I found a Toyo dealer that has the TRD cai as being discontinued because they have a new part # for the CARB legal one!

I was informed that my TRD SC, TRD CAI, and TRD exhaust were ALL under warranty with the powertrain; 5 years or 60,000 miles. Thats the reason for paying full price, instead of getting it off ebay cheaper, IMO. If you get it off Ebay, you may save yourself some money, but you only get a 1 year warranty on the blower.

Plus if you finance your truck, and wrap the cost of the charger etc into the deal, then you are looking at about another $80-150 on your monthly truck note (depending on how its structured) being your cost of supercharging.

It doesn't matter where you purchase the TRD SC, what matters is who installed it. My TRD SC purchased from ebay had the warranty registration card included and it has been submitted stating that a Toyota dealer installed it for full 5/60K warranty.

Also, I understand from written TRD verbage that the purchase of the TRD SC cannot be added to the purchase price of a new vehicle from a Toyota dealer but I'm sure a good finance guy could get around that issue.

True^^^ my dealer and many others will not finance the blower in with the truck, it must be paid for in cash. They would sell sooooo many more blowers if they would just smart up and do it. They would make more in intrest on top also.

Well so far it's just hear say about the new cai part # and being carb legal. We'll see what happens.
