My buddy just picked this up and paid less than I did in '08?? It is a manual instead of an auto. They are also still coming with the same 3 leaf springs in the rear even with the tow package.

I would have had this color if it had been offered in '08.

I don't like a couple things on it as well as my '08 however? The tail lights, the rear speakers in the roof instead of the doors, and the way the access seats have headrests and fold front to back. On my '08 they fold rear to front leaving a flat platform for the dog carrier, ect. with room to hide a fishing rod or shotgun out of veiw in the full width storage compartment underneath the jump seats.

The 09 also have the Badass Magnetic Gray paint option which is the best color for the Tacoma.

The LED's are needed for the back up camera. Conventional tail lights are not bright enough for the back up camera at night. They are new for 09.

I like the idea of rear headrests. In my 08, if someone is sitting back there and I get rear ended, their head is gonna slam the rear window.

I mentioned a couple days back that Toyota changed more than the cupholders.

Every model is about 100 pounds lighter, the wheelbase is different, ground clearance is slightly higher on some models (0.1 or 0.2") and I think the turning radius is smaller. I determined this based on the specs listed on Longo Toyota's website compared with the Toyota website for '09 models.

How or what they changed to accomplish this, I have no idea. All I know is the specs don't match up.

i doubt this, the reverse lights are still conventional bulbs. the purpose of taillights isn't for illumination for you to see, its for people to see you.

I just talked to a Toyota factory rep and was told that the 2010's have NOT been released. I then asked the dealer to look into it and was told that actual production on the 2010 Tacoma was supposed to start on August 3rd, meaning they would have started showing up in dealerships about a month later, but that date was pushed back because of the cash for clunkers stuff. Are you sure your buddy didn't buy an '09?

They might not be out in your area.... there have been two guys who posted pics of '10's (yes they have the new cup holder) in the last 4 or 5 days....

I think it is more likely that the numbers from "Longo" are incorrect.

Totally possible, but then again - where did the data come from?

This wasn't just the Prerunners or the 4x4's, each class of Tacoma had a lower weight listed.

Similar story with the other specs...when something changed on one type, the others usually followed.

Hi Judy and yes have to keep Lucy happy!!!

The cup holders are different than my '08 just figured manual instead of auto as I think they were different in '08 as well around the console depending on transmission type. It also has a small storage compartment between the rear jump seats that prevents the hidden storage to run all the way across.

The truck arrived quicker than expected but it is a 2010 according to the window sticker??

Sorry all, called my buddy again and he said all his paperwork and conversation with the salesman on day of sale led him to believe it was a 2010, but the widow sticker folded up in the glove box and vin. # makes it a 2009???. Still a super nice truck as mentioned, but sorry for the misinformation.
