Hey there, people. I was wondering if there are any off-the-shelf upgrades for the bottom of the barrel, 2011 2wd base Taco? I cannot find anything readily available, anywhere. Without having to become a fabricator, do I have any real options?

You need to narrow down your scope. What kind of upgrades?

Well, that was kind of the point... There's tons of stuff for V6 models, 4X4's, prerunners, TRD's, X runners, etc... I can find the trinkets: tire stem caps, floor mats, shift knobs, etc. I cannot find bolt-on parts like a skid plate, a hood with a scoop that fits, or an emissions legal intake(WA). Oh, I did find a ridiculous supercharger for $4700, but it only netted 66hp, and that's just insulting...

Anything having to do with bodywork and modifications not involving the front diff should be useful for a PreRunner as well. You might check the "2nd Gen Tips, Mods, and more" sticky on the front page.

The consensus about performance gains is that the only way you're going to get more HP is from a super charger. Cold air intakes and new air filters are useless bordering on harmful. The snorkel will net you better airflow and possibly MPG, but IMO looks pretty ugly.

I would check out the 5 lug thread if you havent. Its true there are fewer options for suspension but the engine is the same as all the others and the wheels are shared with many other cars, mostly fwd sedans from japan. It does take some extra work but there are options out there.

Also, a little birdie told me that there will be a powder coated tailgate cap "system" coming in the very near future.

Alright, thanks you guys. Good stuff. Not so happy about the lack of more hp options, but will definitely be checking the 5 lug forum, and KB Voodoo will be hearing from me soon. Yeah, good pitch indeed...

    OP doesn't have a Prerunner.
Lots of eye candy in the 5 lug threads, don't get discouraged!

Haha, I could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.
