I have a 2011 dc tacoma...I'm either guna go with one 10 or 12 inch alpine type s because it is semi shallow and there cheap or I found a great deal on two 8 inch kicker l5s. What would you guys recommend..I'm llooking for it to hit pretty hard but clean doesn't need to be to crazy but I want it still somewhat loud. My last ranger I had two 12inch rf p2s and I was happy wt that....thanks for the help

What does element desighns offer? I'm not sure if I like the shallow mount subs I haven't realy herd any..ny friend had the shallow p3 with the fosgate box in his single cab ranger but it sounded horrible but he had a crapy 800 watt american pro 2chanel amp so I'm sure that's why

I have two shallow-mount 12" Pioneers powered by an Alpine PDX-M12 amp and I am very happy. I was thinking of two 13" JL Audio 13tw5s, but they were at least twice the price.

I dont like shallow subs because of the lack of low end bass extension. For that reason Im going with 2 IDQ 10" subs.

Just an FYI, Alpine just released a shallow mount Type-R in both 10" and 12" sizes. This was about a month after I bought my Type-S for mounting depth reasons. You will need more power to drive them effectively than a Type-S though.

Another thing to keep in mind is that they are SVC @ 4 ohms, so unless you buy 2 you won't be able to run them off your amp at 2 ohms.

    New 10": http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/swr-t10/ (3 1/4" mounting depth vs 5 7/8" on the old style)

    New 12": http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/swr-t12/ (3 1/2" mounting depth vs 6 3/8" on the old style)
