    G'day all,

I own a 2011 DC TRD TX Pro which has the cat back exhaust. I'm currently at 33,000 mile and was doing some minor maintenance (greasing u-joints). When sliding myself out from the rear of the truck I use the exhaust pipe as leverage. That maneuver resulted in a few "squeaks" which I quickly blamed on the rubber exhaust hangers.

Since I was already under the truck doing "grease" stuff, I thought I would quickly eliminate the squeak. Starting from the rear or the truck and moving forward I lubricated each hanger, but the squeak remained. Of course that pissed me off some what, so did a much slower inspection and found the squeak coming from the exhaust pipe connection point just ahead of the muffler with the two spring loaded bolts. To prove to myself I had the actual "squeak point" I put a few drop of Liquid Wrench on the exhaust doughnut gasket and the squeak was gone.

I know that's not the "fix", but I did find the offender.

So, what is the permanent fix, replace the exhaust doughnut gasket? The 2 bolts are as tight as there gonna get.

    Thought are appreciated, thanks.

    Cheers

    Bob

If that's the only squeak and rattle you get from the truck, you are miles ahead of everyone here. :D The Tacoma isn't that refined.

Dont know if i would mess with it or not myself, just remember you are leaking exhaust gases out of there too,not much but some and when it gets bad enough,it will fail inspection. At least in Pa.
