hmmm....most of my trucks have been manuals & still have a 5 spd stick summer sports car. My truck is auto because I choose it to be and I am far from lazy. I did test drive a manual but choose the auto trans because my left knee was toast from years of ground pounding in the military & living an active lifestyle. I am far from stupid or dumb..................
    not a cool comment imo
if you like manual great, if you don't great, yeah its a bummer less models being offered but name calling those who choose what they want to spend money on isn't really anybody's business but those who put up the cash.

That is what I was wondering about. Similar to the 4 cyl 4 Runner idea?

So the auto takes care of the steering and braking, too? Mine must not be working right.

I've driven more cars than you can imagine. Why don't drive a real road car on a road course? I have nothing to prove to you, you mouthed off about an automatic transmission being "handicapped". I own both, they both have their place. I too have driven in Baja and all over the California desert with both 2 and 4 wheel drive vehicles. I have an automatic transmission because it suits the driving I do in the truck.

Don't get all huffy because you wrote something stupid and got called on it.

really. WTF. what's wrong with the 2TR?
MANY people have the 4 cyl for many different reasons, enjoying its capabilities and economy.

    this is getting ridiculous.

agreed that the general skill level of most drivers is sorely lacking, but that's no reason to say the automatics are for unskilled lazy-asses. As for the SCCA training, it is a ridiculous amount of fun, but I would venture that some people would look at such training as an excuse to drive excessively on public roads.

All of the 6 Toys I've owned previous to this were manual 5 sp. Apparently you couldn't get the TRD PreRunner with anything but an auto. Damned shame.

So we're not allowed to multitask while driving? My job would be awful if I had a manual. I'd have to slow down and take turns at 5 mph. That won't work on cloverleaf intersections. I keep eyes and mind on the road, one hand on the wheel and one hand on the pizzas/2 liters so they don't fall off the seat which always happens even when I drive slow. I'd need a 3rd hand to downshift. No I don't drive excessively fast.

Can't wait to see pics of the new grille.

I really wish they added back the old style seating that were in the 2005-08 Access Cabs. That was really the only thing that stopped me from buying new because the new improved "jump seats" looked like garbage to me and I wanted something easy that I could fold down so my dog could sit in back.

Oxi, clearly you are an ignorant and stubborn person. When someone has two small children in a car priorities change. Evasive maneuvers are now more difficult, with more working parts to account for.

    Auto - Steer, gas, brake
Man - Steer, gas, brake, clutch, shifter

Your reasons for people needing to drive manual are absurd and ridiculous.
