Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I don't like the looks of the newer Tundras and I am a Ford man, would have went with a Ranger but the newer Rangers are too damn ugly! I really love my Tacoma though and glad I went with it!

I couldn't have made a better choice 10 years ago buying my 2001 Tacoma-but I have to say that now in 2011 I am sure proud of what Ford is doing. IMO they are pretty impressive coming through the way they did and although I feel their trucks are too bloated and kinda ugly and their cars are boring and the Mustang's body is way too large, I may consider my next vehicle to be Ford IF they manage to subdue their body-bloating habits a bit.

unlike some others i LIKE the tundras allot! i like them lifted too. have not really seen the inside. and my uncle has a f-150. idk what year or anything. but it one of the newer ones. i rode in it the other night rode nice! looks nice on in side. (allot nicer than the damn rangers) i don’t really like fords at all! but.. i do have to admit i like the new f-150s. and if one was given to me.. i would prob keep it.

Toyota all the way and I will never own anything else. A co-worker of mine just bought a 2011 F150 super crew long bed and I usually pick him up from the dealership once a month. First was his transmission and then some computer problems... I give him hell about it daily.

Also, I paid $24,000 for my 2009 Tacoma from a dealership (it was a certified toyota) and the kbb value on it right now is almost $27,000. I did get one heck of a deal but I don't see the $27K dropping anytime in the near future.

yeah you guys, sorry but F-150 is out of the question now. It's for sure going to be a Tundra. I have failed in my attempts to convince my dad to get the F-150, oh well, the Tundra is just as nice a truck.

I've been looking at some around dealerships, and I've noticed that most Tundras have the towing package standard? Right? I have yet to see one with out it. Now I don't know a single thing about towing or what the equipment is. I just know that there is something that goes into the rear of the truck like this:

Now how do I know what to put in/buy? I've seen posts here from the 2nd gen section where in some rear ends, the hitch took most of the hit.

Here is what we want, white, double cab (not crewmax) and the 4.6L V8. Plus 4X4. TRD Off-Road would be nice. I saw a truck just like it.

Not a bad looking truck... and a good color I might add.

Ron Carter is actually where I bought my truck. It's the only dealership that I have never had any problems at and they have exceeded all of my expectations.

Most tundras have the tow package. You get a bigger alternator, trans cooler, powersteering cooler (i think), class 5 hitch, 4/7 pin connector, plug under dash for brake controller, different rearend gear (4.30 instead of 4.10?), and you get a trans temp gauge on your dash. It's worth it for the trans cooler and other beefier components.

I got the non TRD, I didn't see the point in spending an extra grand on slightly different shocks and uglier wheels (imo). Make sure you get some type of topper, it really completes the look i think. also, why still the 4.6 over the 5.7?!

because my dad can't seem to listen to me when I tell him those MPG estimates on the window are no where like the real world MPGs.

I've read the difference between the two motors in MPGs isn't even that great...

Thanks! Yeah we want something along the lines of that, so I went truck hunting after school. I was leaving ACC and then I realized, "Oh wait! I remember the Ron Carter @ Alvin commercials! I go to school in Alvin!"

Only took a few minutes to find, Down 35, Right on FM528 :D

Dad's been looking at fort bend toyota since that's on his way home from work, Imo Ron Carter looks like a better dealership and they have WAY more to choose from. I even saw 4X4 TRD Off-Road tacomas on their lot, Fort Bend Toyota only had one 4x4 Tacoma, with no TRD. Same for the Tundra's over at fort bend toyota too, there was a 4x4 model, but no TRD.

get that receiver ball in the pic you posted and a LOCKING hitch pin. we got ares at wal mart. some say don’t get locking. but do it! if you are going to tow or leaving the hitch in. people can still it in less than 10 sec other wise. and say you wear towing something and went in a store or something. someone could just pull the receiver out of you’r truck leaving it locked to the trailer. move the trailer and put it in there truck.

That 6.2 pulls like a diesel. We use them at work. So far, solid engines. Even on an F-350 chassis it can cause mad axle wrap on off road conditions.

My only beef is that with the rear diff locker, the truck turns it off automatically when it goes over 10-15mph. Nothing you can do about it.

It looks like a normal hitch pin, but on the part where the cotter pin goes in there is some sort of lock on it. Pretty much any store that sells towing stuff should have them.

I think i saw one today on another truck in the parking lot. It looks like theres a huge metal bulb (which i presume is the lock) on the pin.

Column shifter is the way to go man. More seat space if needed. Plus IMO it feels like a proper full size automatic pickup should. Again it is purely my opinion.

I don't mind it, my old RAM was like that.

But I'd still prefer the console shifter. The column shifter feels so "american" like to me :D

Toyota Nation has something for everyone. Have you tried Tundra Solutions? Tundra Talk is another. I have not used either of the last two forums, just some I have heard about.
