OK, this is a good one. Just drove two of the exact same optioned trucks. Both new 2011 Double cabs. Exact same option packages. One had white instrument lighting. The other had orange. Build date on the orange lighting was 09/2010. Build date on white lighting was 12/2010. Dealer was unaware of this until I pointed it out and had no clue. Only thing I can figure was Toyota changed instrument panel lighting color sometime between Sept and December 2010.

Anyone else notice this? Kinda strange....

Yep, the sales guy at the dealer asked around the shop, but nobody new about it. There was a change for sure. Just not sure when or what else changed other than the instument light color.

was not a dimmer issue. Completely different look to the lighting. Would be like comparing an apple and a orange.

Mine has a December build date. The guages are backlit with white light... It doesn't quite go with the rest of the interior, radio, etc., IMO, but it sure is easy to read.

Interesting, I want to see some pictures.

Post some of the white backlight if you can or have them.

I have a September 2010 production date on mine, and it has the orange/red lights.

I was not sure if I would like the orange lighting on my 2010 but it has grown on me. I can't stand Pontiac's RED lights in their dashes but the Toyota orange lighing is not bad. I would prefer the green or white lighting though. Would be interested in pics too.

My build date is 9/2010 and I have the orange... Wish I would have noticed that or known something about it. Toyota has worn out the orange dash lights. Its time for a change imo...

I was wondering about that change. Thought it was something cosmetic the dealer slapped on. It's not my truck (wish it was tho :( the 05 will have to do for now) but Carson Toyota got that truck like a month ago, so I wonder how many are actually changed to that since I see newer inventory on their site with the older style gauges.
