Okay so I've seen many threads about difficulty with factory iPod connectivity on 2011 Tacomas. Mine is a 2011 SR5 with the lower end radio (single CD). My local stereo shop installed the iSimple Gateway kit and the kit functions, albeit imperfectly.

It plays music and allows control of playlists, albums, artists, etc. The text display is problematic. Roughly half of the songs I've played so far it displays incorrect information about (eg: Listenting to "ACDC" but the display reads "Journey"). The steering wheel controls work. However, likewise with the display issue, when I press advance or back buttons on the steering wheel while the actual song is either advanced or restarted as you would expect, the display will freeze and lock up until I use a button on the stereo itself.

Bottom line - I'm pleased to now have my ipod tunes but frustrated that the display and menus are difficult.

Upside is its a brand new Taco with 200 miles on it. :D

Yes. This is how the interface connects.
