Did you custom valve the rears for the canti set up ? That is one of the trickiest things with canti figuring out that leverage ratio etc and how to valve properly

Yep it should be fun... If you are ever wheeling around Bigbear/Lake arrowhead area let me know, I'd love to check out your setup.

Just when I ordered from King, we gave them all the rear info and they valved them off that. As you know King will help with setup/valving in Barstow if you buy direct. It will be some fine tuning also on our end, and look forward to it. I need to change out my Shackle flip kit and Go back to Inverted shackle set up as the leafs were designed for. Going with something like Camburg spring under shackle setup.

This is what I'm interested in also. I think he said King will help set up the shocks.

    Edit:
    What he said.

Yeah King is great about helping tune in the suspension...Once a month they set up local SoCal spot to dial in the shocks. One more reason I will only buy King:thumbsup:

Okay, I'm gonna display some ignorance here instead of researching it on the interwebz...

What is the purpose of running a spring-under setup? I know pretty much only the LT desert runners do it, but it seems like you get more clearance with a spring-over setup.

Also, I'm curious why you want to go back to the factory shackle config. I would think it would articulate better with the shackle flip.

No ignorance Lee...Most LT trucks are not concerned about the loss of ground clearance at the leafs...Well because they get a shit load of travel from it..lol You can still Wheel rocks just need to choose the lines a little more. I have learned a few new things about 2nd gens on this build. The after market leafs are designed for inverted shackles like factory setup...Shackle flip will flatten the springs and can limit travel. I'm going with something like this..

Hmm...okay, I think I can picture how you might get more down travel out of that Camburg setup...although, given the clearance on the inboard side of the shackle, I still think the shackles pointed down would allow for better articulation when the spring twists with the axle (especially if you're running creeper joints). I could be wrong though.

I'm still a little sketchy on the whole spring-under-axle thing. Seems like with all else being equal, the spring is only going to flex as far as it's going to flex regardless if the axle is over it or under it. Does it have anything to do with axle wrap? Or maybe having a spring with a deeper arch which still keeping the ride height and, thus, CG low? I could also see it'd keep the springs from hitting a negative arch as much, but that could be done with bump stops too.

I think the issue is that it creates a longer spring with more arch for the same amount of lift. That should give you a lot more uptravel without having to add lift to the truck.

Yeah a truck with spring under set up is completely different, its intended for huge down travel and huge up travel...At high speed pounding through desert woops it soaks them up. With most crawlers we are not concerned about high speed but more low speed. Also with a linked SAS truck we have way more down travel then up travel, works great for those big pockets/ruts in trails We are going to design a shorter version of the camburg shackle and see if it brings back some arch to the leafs. My truck sits super low in the rear so I will welcome a couple more inches if we can get it.

You got it...A nice low prerunner setup correctly with equal up/down travel works great at high speed.

Well, yeah, haha. Ain't too many deserts over on this side of the country. Florida has plenty of swamps though, and that gives rise to some pretty bizarre crap in itself. o_O

Honestly, I've never been to a swamp buggy race. I guess I'm kinda weird like that, haha. I never went to Stone Mountain when I lived in Atlanta for 2.5 years until after I moved back home to Florida and was up there taking a 2 week fam course on one of the aircraft we were servicing down here. Over the weekend the wife came up and we went to Stone Mountain for the day. Kinda the same with never having been to a swamp buggy race except Naples is probably the closest place to me to see one and it's about a 3 or 4 hour ride from here. :D

Thanks Man, I defiantly will update! The kit will be a very limited run as its pretty $$ and will not be for everyone. My son is going spring under with same kit, and we will be able to showcase the two different setups then. Also we will be able to see if it's even feasible for selling to multiple people who are interested then. :hattip:
