Clay Travis is an ass hat. He's on the radio down here a lot and every time he's 100% douche, even when he's stirring up trouble for auburn instead of Alabama.

I hope Trent signed autographs there and didn't get any money or suits or anything. I hope. We'll see, though.

Buzz: Virginia Tech fans knew the day would come when Tyrod Taylor would no longer be behind center for the Hokies. Taylor, who was the ACC Player of the Year last season is gone but with Logan Thomas stepping up as his replacement, there shouldn’t be too much concern. At 6-foot-6, 245-pounds, Thomas has earned comparisons to former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton in his size and abilities. Loaded with a strong arm and lots of mobility, the Virginia native has been in the system for over a season now and knows what it takes to lead the Hokies’ offense. He played in seven games in 2010, attempting 26 passes for 107 yards while rushing for 22 yards on six carries.

If he is just half as talented as Newton we will take it!!! Come on September!!!

Not surprised. I usually don't have any luck with tickets. Usually have to do Ebay or a broker. Don't think I will have the money this year. Although my birthday is coming up. (hopes wife is looking in on thread ;))

Games like these, even bowl games are mostly bought up by big companies (espeacially the title sponsor) to give to there clients and other business partners. It sucks for the average guy. When I worked in sales for a beer distributor we always had tickets to stuff, for store managers and the like.

Yea...these were upper level, but they were by far the cheapest I've found at $55.

These were SUPPOSED to be for the general public. They were releasing these for general admission at 9 this mornin. Sucks. I'll have to keep an eye on eBay or Craigslist I guess. Or just keep some money and watch it from home...

Must suck being the little brother.

Texas A&M administrators have spent much of the past week expressing their displeasure over the new Longhorn Network, an ESPN-owned station devoted to 24-hour coverage of its biggest rival, the University of Texas. The Aggies ’bowed up again Monday in Dallas, when A&M refused to allow coach Mike Sherman to conduct an interview with the network’s reporters, who were in town for Big 12 Media Days at the Westin Galleria.

Didn't I hear that the NCAA might step in and not let the network televise HS games like they want to? Unfair recruiting advantage or something.

You are correct! The only reason A&M got upset was because they want to air Conference and HS games, before they came out with that A&M had no problem with the network. OU also has the same problem.

Notice aggriod and dirt burglar were the first to respond to the HS question.
They both claim it gives Texas an unfair advantage in recruiting so they went whining to the NCAA about it. What they seem to forget is that Texas already gets 98% of the recruits they want without a network so I dont see how much more of an advantage it could be.
Now the NCAA is holding a meeting to determine (make a new rule) about networks attached to universities.

What I don't understand is the timing of the network? From what I understand it's going to be a channel you pay extra for while America is in an economic disaster. I would think it would be a smarter to wait until the economy turns around.

Forget about the timing as it relates to the economy... How 'bout launching a network that basically says "we are the Texas fucking Longhorns" after going 5-7 overall and 2-6 in the little 12?

They'll rake in the money, despite the economy.

You could have stopped with "We are Texas."
And dont think for a second that aggie wouldn't do the same thing if anyone cared enough to support their own network.
