Just got this text from ESPN a few minutes ago

ESPN News - Gottlieb: Source confirms Texas A-M to join SEC; Clemson, Florida St, Missouri also likely to join

That's 16 teams in he SEC. I thought 12 was plenty. 16 is outrageous. We already can't play every team every year.

Actually refusing to play them will hurt them. That would be their only game in Texas other than home games. And I have mixed feeling about it myself. One one hand I say fuck em they left not us. On the other hand its a huge part of our history and having an SEC team on our ooc schedule every year would look pretty good.

DeLoss Dodds has been forming a relation ship with Notre Dame for years and really wants them on our schedule (even more so in our conference) so this would be an opportunity to play them. What game are you more likely to watch. sheep fuckers v. Texas or ND v. Texas. I think DeLoss is the best AD ever he pulls no punches and gets shit done. I forgot the circumstances, might have been about expanding the stadium but he said "We don't keep up with the Joneses. We are the Joneses."

Deep down I think there is a chance the Texas legislature steps in and stops this from happening. Which would be the best thing ever. Imagine how much more aggie would hate us if they have to come back with their tail between their legs and get back in line with the Mack 10

A&M is a done deal and i bet they take Clemson to add an east and a west team. They won't take mizzou cuz that'd mean another West and their not really that good at anything. FSU won't join b/c their whole recruiting is based on winning a ACC championship and thus pushing to make it to a national title, which they wouldn't be able to do in the tougher SEC. Clemson will join as well as they are in the heart of SEC country as is and always (for me atleast) had the appearance of an SEC school due to its fanbase and traditions

Same here for me.....game 2 for our teams will decide the rest of the season.....lose it & it's an uphill battle the rest of the year. It's almost always a great game when we play each other....normally down to wire......looking forward to it!

Settle down. It might turn out to be true. But aggie has to vote on it monday. And the Texas legislature has not had their say yet. Shit just learned the SEC wont decide on it till tomorrow weather or not to even invite aggie in.

if ESPN reports it then its a done deal haha, never seen ESPN leak a story early that didn't turn out mostly how they said it would. But like i said before FSU wouldn't go anywhere on their own account, SEC would not actually want Mizzou and Clemson will most likely go as they have nothing to lose since their middle of the pack ACC team anyways. Thus with A&M and Clemson its bumped to 14 total, 7 East and 7 West...

Any dates on when this might happen? I know teams usually have 2-3 years of schedules already lined up so just wondering how this would affect that.

16 is just stupid IMO. I mean, of course who wouldn't want to be in the best conference in America though.

Im not saying its not going to happen. But the sec hasnt decided if they are even going to let aggie in yet, they meet tomorrow and aggie bosses make their decision on monday. Then the lawyers get involved on tuesday. It may happen but it aint over yet. IF they do go they will more than likely start an sec schedule in 2012.

But what would you do with teams from the Mountain West, WAC, C-USA, Independent fucks, and other "smaller" confrences. Do they just get swept under the rug and forgot about? There are 119 D1 football teams.
