    @lilredin808

By chance did he try to start it while it was running?

Sta relay I used my 08 Camry to go pick up the multi meter and check the battery. And when I got home swapped it with the Tacoma and cranked my car stared right up. So the sta relay should be good. And going to check the other things u suggested tomorrow. This truck is making me . Need a break but thank u guys I see why my friend suggested this place.

Good question ‍♂️. When people break something they tend to leave out some parts. And say that’s how I found it.

I was talking to my brother and he said that he was driving his truck and when he was about to reverse park his truck. It started to lose power. When he parked and did his thing. Came back that’s the time the truck never wanted to start. So he towed it home and told me that the truck didn’t want to start. So I changed the starter. But it could be something else? That’s making it not want to start. But I stumped the fact the starter doesn’t want to crank.

Have you checked the smaller Y/G wire for power on the starter when you jump the relay?
If you have power to pin 5 and jump it to pIn 3, you should have power to that wire.

The ignition has to be in the cranking position.
So, did you ever have power to that wire?

There's been a lot of chatter here and it appears like a lot of activity from your end as far as testing goes OP. I am not really in the right mental capacity to be able to fully grasp what you have and have not tested even though I tried to read through it all so I'm going to most likely rehash some things the other guys said. Forgive me if this is repetitive...

I have a really stupid question. Have you tried connecting a scanner to the truck and seeing if you can get a report from the STA PID on it?

The computer needs report a digital PCM "STA" signal in order for it to start cranking. If it doesn't see one no cranky.

Most no crank no start issues are relatively easy to identify.

    - Ensure your battery posts are tight and in place where need be

    - check all fuses related to circuit (because there will easily be a few of them)

    - if that looks good move on to the starter signal wire. Should initially read ground and when you crank the ignition the tester which you are using will switch to power polarity.

    - if that is not working You may have a suspect ignition switch, though those are typically not issue items on these truck nothing is out of the realm of failure. You should check relays before you replace anything, however. I don't have the schematic in front of me right now but AM1/ AM2 are the main relays which are typically tied to the starting circuit.

Your issue is most likely going to be electrical and not mechanical from what I can tell, but at least now it seems like it's narrowed down to either the relays, the junction block assembly, or the ignition switch.

If I were you I would make 1000% sure the 120/ 140 alt fuse is still intact on the junction block. Those have blown and have caused owners a no start issue in the past before.

Not on the 2nd gen, the PCM only gets a start signal to turn on the fuel pump it has nothing to do with the starter working. You can unplug the PCM completely and the engine would still crank over, it just wouldn't start.

What did he mean by "It started to lose power"?

Seems like an issue with the Park/Neutral switch or circuit based on the back probing you did.

    That’s odd.
Because the result you posted below would have you showing power to the starter. Weird.

This might be the key to clearing things up.
Is this with key in the ON position?
Or with key in the CRANKING position?
