Dropped the truck off at the fabricators to get caged. Hit the ramp while I was there. Truck flexed pretty well. Might lower the spring weight on the front coilovers though. Looking forward to getting the truck back this fall. 33141770-B5FA-4A73-9B2A-E036860F1159.jpg 83AE736E-CC68-45AC-8A79-92BCEB2C718E.jpg 0FD4FEE1-91EE-46E8-AC6B-513FA2FDEB1D.jpg 82FC923D-2695-462F-B478-C39D2D0BB3BF.jpg

Thanks man. Mad props to guys like you who build their own! I got a lot of inspiration from your truck. I can’t take credit for this one, it was all my fabricator Scott’s doing.

Is Scott doing the cage or is another fabricator?

If the cage turns out like the rest of the work he has done, it should be superb...from the looks of it he takes his time, does the homework, and gets it right the first time. This has got to be one of the best trucks on TW...would love to take it for a rip!

This is probably the most insane LT build I've seen that's still useable as a truck. Awesome! And the trunk idea is exactly what I've been trying to conjure in my headm. Might be stealing that idea if you don't mind!

I just read through your whole thread, and there was a time right after you got 37s that it seemed like you were running stock gears. Is that true? If so, how did it drive? I'm on 35s now with stock gears, saving up for 4.88s and arbs, then going to 37s. But I was curious what your experience was

Thanks man! I had to keep as much of the bed useable as possible. Only way I can justify having a truck. Lol As far as the gears go it wasn’t bad. Definitely not going anywhere fast but the RPMs were not bad on the highway....gas mileage did suck but once again it’s a truck on 37’s so I kinda assumed it would. If I were out when I regraded I would have went with 5.29’s vs the 4.88’s though.

Yeah I use my bed for hauling big shipments and stuff for our store, so it has to be useable bed space. That's why I have a DCLB as well. Even a 5ft bed is near pointless for how I use my truck. I do love that 13" shorter wheel base. That's why I like your idea so much.

My gas mileage is pretty bad as it is, can't see it getting too terribly worse haha I think converted to miles I'm rolling around at around 13mpg. Interesting that you say you'd go 5.29's! I've been recommended 4.56 from some, 4.88 from most, and 5.29's too now! Just doesn't have the torque for low speed crawling type stuff?

You're only getting 13? That's worse than me and I have the supercharger. I average about 14.5 unless I'm hauling ass or playing hard. But also I'm on 4.56 with 35's. As far as gearing goes, if you never ever ever plan to go bigger than 35's, 4.56's aren't bad, 4.88's probably better. But if there's a slim chance of 37's and the truck not being a dd, 5.29's all the way. At least that's my plan since I'll go to 37's likely next year

Yeah it's horrible. That's according to my ultraguage, which is pretty accurate. I think I have a problem somewhere. Something must be dragging. I'm going to pull my rear drums and see if there's something going on in there. Maybe it's time for new plugs as well, and a MAF cleaning. I don't really know what else could be doing it. I was having some o2 sensor issues a while ago, so maybe I should replace those as well? I don't really know. The list of maintenance grows ever larger.

I will be on 37's next year as well, as soon as I get regeared, so that's why I'm trying to figure out the best option. The truck is my wife and I's only vehicle right now, which is why it's tough. By the time I put on 37's though, this truck will be our road trip, wheeling, work machine, and we will have something a little more fuel efficient for daily driving. We opened an "overland" store a year ago that's only 2 blocks from our house, so we can just walk to work fortunately.
