    Hi Folks,

Got a little/big problem on my hand. Brought in my 2011 to have frame inspected for recall this past Sept. The dealership said not enough rust, they applied the anti-rust material on the frame. Now just had a power steering problem, not closely related but the mechanics are saying there is an extreme amount of rust on the vehicle that will cause future issues.

I should be able to bring in my truck to Toyota and have them replace the frame or am I out of luck because the idiots originally said it wasn’t bad enough? Some input would be great, sick of Toyota being lazy and screwing people out of recalls. Thanks in advance!

I believe you have 12 yrs from the first in service date.
Someone else will chime in and confirm.
But I’d say take it on to a Toyota dealership and have them inspect it.
Maybe not the same one you went to last time

Take it back to a Toyota dealer. Nobody (your buddy Ralph, your trusted mechanic, the internet, etc.) can determine if your are eligible for a frame replacement. And for the 400th time, this is not a recall.

@Too Stroked What is it then? I'm assuming Toyota is the only source that can determine the frame replacement?

It is a special service campaign, not a recall. It is different from a recall in that there are very special conditions that must be met (by the vehicle and the customer) in order to qualify. Your mechanic may say the vehicle has excessive corrosion, but only a Toyota dealer can tell you if that amount of corrosion qualifies you for a frame replacement.
