Yes, stupid. That's exactly what I'm saying. Everything he had was running it in on James. Nobody would risk broken legs and feet if they could get by somewhere else. James was way faster than Reed everywhere tonight, he almost fell three times and caught back up each time. I saw it clearly from row 14. Maybe you couldn't see well enough with your head planted in your ass but James t-boned Reed, because Reed cut off his line. What do you expect with 180' bowls. There are two lines the fast line and the line that cuts off the fast line. I hate it when riders come in with no chance of making the turn but thats what's going to happen everytime with 180 bowls.

I think it was ok for chad to hit him up like he did... all in all stewart did that same thing to him... Stewart had a chioce to let off and let him have the pass but instead he slammed into him. Reed is aggressive... and i think stewart just lit his fire. I give Reed a big thumps up for starting his own team... that cant be easy.

It was racing plain and simple IMO. Stewart had a choice and would have likely done the same thing if he were in that situation.

not the same situation. last lap, near final turn and an opportunity to block pass on a track that is nearly imposible to pass on.

5 laps to go is not the same situation.

While I wasn't initially debating how Stewart rode that turn, he did square off on exit. I can't speak for Reed but I doubt he anticipated that, and was likely just going for a block pass, not a take down. Reed is at the disadvantage being on the inside, if Reed hits Stewart, and Stewart goes down...he's leaning inside to the turn, which means he'll fall on Reed, just like what played out, how does that help Reed?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyY5ES8Ta6o

My origional point was that IT'S RACING and that IT'S A COMPETITION when you need every point possible, and you're batteling your biggest rival for the points that you need so badly it's going to get aggressive. When Stewart passed Reed with two to go, there was contact, when Reed knocked into Stewart with one to go, there was more contact, the stakes were higher because it was the last lap DIFFERENT SITUATION. Each lap is it's own, you can't compare one to the other because pressure and desperation builds. (underline = my first and origional point)

IMO if Reed would have taken Stewart out like that in the first turn, that would have been shitty, there would theoretically be an entire 20 laps worth of opportunities to take the lead the right way. It was a last ditch attempt at taking the lead. Saying 'it's his douche genenetics that caused him to run into Stewart because everyone knows the douche gene only kicks in when you're in second place' or whatever is nuts.

Didn't he get fined for that one? Can't remember. Shit happens in racing but to me, IMO, that take down LOOKED very deliberate. Reed might have thought he could make the pass at first but when he realized he couldn't he just rammed Stewart. That was the consensus in our house anyway.

The only thing deliberate about Reed in that corner was to take the line away. Reed had the front wheel on Stewart and Bubba squared up. Ryan Sipes/ Blake Wharton in Houstn was a take out. Reed/ Bubba in Atlanta was not a take out. If Reed would have gone high to the inside of Bubba and punted over the berm, That would be a take out. This was not a take out but simply Reed stealing the line.
