First post, in need of help!

I purchased a used 2011 tacoma a few months back. The previous owner did his own retrofit kit install. I noticed when driving one of my dtrl will go out. It started as the right and now it's just the left. They work when I start the vehicle. After I drive for a few minutes one of them will shut off, if I turn my low beams on and shut them off the dtrl turn back on. I took the truck to a professional hid shop and they said the connections were connected fine but they didn't take anything apart. They thought maybe it was the relays, so I changed them out but that didn't correct the problem. I thought maybe the dtrl were burning out and melting but maybe it's a connection issue? Anyone have any ideas?!?

cheapest option to test... swap the bulbs from side to side. does the condition still happen?

if the bulb that goes out is now on the opposite side, replace both bulbs.

if the bulb that goes out is still on the same side, start looking at the socket for the bulb... is it burnt? is the metal connections corroded? do they look like they are spaced correctly in the socket to make contact with the bulb? heat can cause distortion.

start looking at the stock wiring, was something tapped/spliced into the wiring somewhere but gone now? condition of the wiring in general and at the socket?
