I'm about to install the Prodigy on a 2009 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 (No TRD) I have the 5 pin female plug and I'm wondering if you could help me.

    Does the following make sense,

1.Install this to the existing 4 pin
    http://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Tow-Ready/30717.html
    2. Install Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller
    3. Plug Prodigy into 5 pin using this
    http://www.amazon.ca/Tekonsha-3040-P-Control-Wiring-Adapter/dp/B001NZQIFM/ref=pd_bxgy_263_img_y

    Is there anything I'm missing?
Are there any fuses/relays missing in my truck because it doesn't include the TRD?
Do I need to run a power source back to the new 7 pin?

    Thanks

If the vehicle does not have the tow package I don't believe there is a plug, but I could be wrong.

I just installed a brake controller on my new to me 2013 Tacoma. I installed mine below the pull out drawer(looks something like an ash tray) above the parking brake pedal. Just drilled a couple small screw holes to attach bracket to plastic. It's very solid in this location, easily accessible and out of the way. The drawer still opens all the way, and my leg does not come in contact with it. No drilling or modifying plastic or filling up any storage areas.
