The state thing has me raising an eyebrow. In my state (PA) your trade-in value is deducted from the sale before state sales tax. I do know states operate differently but are you 100% sure?

FWIW, as a person who does not own a Toyota again yet, I would say it is not worth it.....unless of course you just want it....let me explain.

I had a 2014 Ram and then the 2019s came out. I thought they were a bit ugly in the beginning but they grew on me. I read everywhere online about how nice the new interiors were and how the ride was so much nicer due to the new suspension. It was enough to get me into the door and after test driving, yeah, I wanted it and proceeded. Did I need that new truck, heck no! but I did "want" it.

Looking back, it's still the same truck. Yes, the interior is more modern and yes, the ride is indeed a little nicer but at the end of the day, this new truck does nothing my old truck couldn't do and it's still the same truck...just a little newer and shinier.

On the other hand...I look at vehicles as a luxury item, the same way people look at a cell phones or going out to dinner. I don't need a vehicle to work so a vehicle is a luxury item to me. Yes, it's a unique situation but, and I mean a big but! This is one of the two spoils I have in life and for as hard as I work and do the right thing on every aspect of life, then damnit, let me have my spoils! That is why I'd have no problem trading my 19 ram in for a 20 Toyota. It's something I want and I've earned that choice.

So, do you need it or do you want it? Only you know that answer. Proceed as necessary.

I concur. Life is short and we never know when we take our last breath on planet earth. We could be a newborn, teenager, 20’s, 40’s, 60’s, 80’s or even 90’s. Go for it!!!
