20116 Vs 2015 Nerf Bar Mounting

Im getting conflicting information regarding the fit of Nerf Bars on the 3rd Gen 2016 Vs 2015. Some have said they both have the same mounting points and 2015's will fit 2016. however some web sites such a Real Truck say they will not fit. Can anyone please shed some light on this for me, is there any examples of others doing this and finding they are interchangeable?

I too am wondering this same question. Also are the mounting points the same between the 2016 DCSB and 2016 DCLB? I want to order the Toyota OEM ones for my long bed, but I don't like the look of the long bed nerf bars (too long). I like the look of the short bed nerf bars that end right at the back door. I just got back from the Toyota dealer asking this same question, I talked to two different "Tacoma Experts" and neither one could answer my question. They both kept saying "You know they make nerf bars for the long bed right?"

They are the same I installed my Avid bolt on slider that I had bought for my 2011 on my 2016.
