Just ordered my CAI for my 2015 Tacoma. Autoanything.com does price matching. Used the price here

    http://www.autopartsexpress.com/afe...ntake System&gclid=CPeg28r6ycgCFQkyaQodlH4JaQ

Then called up autoanything.com and told them. They price matched and beat by $1. I then asked about the current 10% offer they have going on for fall (FALLCC10). Guy said $340 shipped! So it's on its way!

    Short and to the point!

What made you go with the AFE system over any of the others?

What do these actually do for our trucks? Since we already have a CAI? Does it improve anything substantially? Make noise what???

Makes it slightly louder. Small peak Hp increase and said mpg increase. I've never expected anything more then a more aggressive sound from my intakes though.

That's a K&N though brother from what I have heard AFE is a lot better than any K&N product. Have a video of the AFE at all

I think the sound would be similar though?

So unless you are racing the engine it doesn't sound any different? I keep mine around 2000 to 2500 .P.M.'s

No, no difference in sound unless your having fun or accelerating onto the freeway and the hp increase is peak so unless your booting it there wouldn't be much of a difference in performance gains. There is a a claim of better MPG but I've never noticed it in any of my cars because I like the growl the intakes make so I was always digging into the throttle negating any MPG claims. Which is the very reason I hesitate to get one, I like the sound way too much. An exhaust is not an viable option for me because I've NEVER liked the sound of any of the exhaust systems I've had on my cars. From Tanabe to RSR, they have all been under whelming and raspy so I've always relied on my intakes to give me that extra 'voice'. The only car I've had any success with as far as aftermarket exhaust pieces go was my 2012 Golf GTI. I did a Stage II APR tune which required a aftermarket downpipe and the APR CAI. It sounded amazing but I did not have a cat back exhaust on that car, just a downpipe and intake.

So the short of the long is. No, you won't hear the sound unless you're having happy times in your truck. The MPG gain is questionable.

Better off to spend that money on a Tonneau cover. IMO.

As an aside, the vehicle does 'breath' better with an intake.

Look at it this way...the difference is like you walking around with a sock in your mouth-factory intake, vs walking around without a sock in your mouth-aftermarket intake. At least that's how it was explained to me.

The downside is that aftermarket intakes are said to allow more particles through their filters, which would make sense since they are less restrictive. K&N tries to deal with this by using oil on their filters, as did my APR CAI. Downside, oil on the MAF sensor if over oiled.

Just an update for interested parties in California. After ordering, I had to have it shipped out of state. Once it shipped, I emailed customer service asking them to change the address to my Ca residence due to me being "out of town." They did for $15. Fed-Ex says they can do this for $13 on the website
