Ordered a knock off from eBay. Fitment for the clips was good. Just had to drill a couple holes for two of the torx screws that hold it, it had all the others except the two in the center for some reason. Easy fix.
That and it had some cheap foam to fill the gap between the grill and the hood. Scraped that off, drilled some holes for the original rubber piece and it was good to go. Probably not as nice as an OEM piece but 99% of the people who see it will not know.

I just installed an ebay knockoff. I did notice that the molding isn't quite as nice, but the part you actually see once installed is fine. Mine was missing a slot in the center that I had to add with a dremel and I had to drill two holes in the bottom center for the mounting screws. The flats where the holes go were there, but those two holes were missing for some reason. While drilling/dremeling I noticed that its actually molded with a whitish plastic then painted, hopefully it won't show scratches down the road. I suppose it's alright for the price.

I got mine off eBay for $123 shipped. Fit almost perfectly. No complaints.

Couple days later the paint was already chipping. Didn’t like it much anyways. I’m gonna look for a pyrite mica grill moulding. I put it back to chrome.

Not to dis any other vendors of this insert, but I'll testify for this option for those looking JUST FOR THE INSERT. I bought in the first round, @jp_flynavy has now completed 6. I found the fit and quality to be excellent. I've had it on for about 5-6 months now. from 105 degrees to 20 degrees. Road salt. Probably 20 car washes. Absolutely no issues, no peeling or discoloration. I'm that odd duck that likes the chrome surround. Old skool.

Reminds me of the early 90’s Toyota Pick Up and 4Runner, before the revised logo in 92.

Still love those trucks to this day! Ever since as a kid as well. Seeing those pick ups on the lot brand new with 31” tires stock. Miss the 90’s. :(

I'm with you. That white truck went to auction in October and didn't hit reserve at 8500. I'd have thought it would go higher.

sorry for the tangential stroll down memory lane lads.

I'm trying to install 2nd gen OEM one, and can't get the stock grille off the bezel. Has white clamp screw things holding it and don't see how you get those off. Anyone dealt with taking bezel off?

    I found this for $60: https://www.ebay.com/itm/352947208681

But it doesn't include the "TOYOTA" insert. The seller says I can buy it from the dealer by itself. Anyone have a part number? Does this sound right?

Thanks to all for sharing your experiences and pictures of your grills.

I had liked the ‘TOYOTA’ look over the round chrome Toyota emblem for a while for my white 2013 TRD Sport DCLB, and had been on the fence for a long time but didn’t want to spend nearly $150 or more for just the look... vanity and striving after the wind.

But finally I was able to spot and snag a (probably knockoff) 2012-2015 TRD Pro grill insert on OfferUp for $70 + shipping, and for around $85 total I am very pleased with the way it turned out! :D

Day 1 when I bought the truck in Nov of 2018:
    C4D97B42-3276-4269-B90E-E1D9BD75C348.jpg

As it sits today right after I got the grill insert in the mail from the seller:
    0043FF1D-83FF-4873-A48C-E46A59524BED.jpg

It’s not as flush against the white trim piece on the drivers side as it is on the passengers side, but hey... for what I paid I’m pleased with the new look and it’s not that noticeable!

Next I need to see about doing a 3M headlight restoration treatment and doing something about my crooked antenna. :p
