Inter web says there is a filter under the drivers door on the frame, it also says that 2nd gens are in the tank...

Gonna look at the rig itself once I get home.

Dropping the tank ain’t so bad on these rigs...

hmm the one under the driver door on the frame is how mine is but it's the 3.4l v6, unless you guys have a secondary one in that location. Or maybe it's different depending on the year/model/drivetrain etc

I’m gonna look under the rig in a few, then we all will know if the 15 pre runners have an external at least...

@eon_blue Confirmation that there is no external fuel filter under the drivers side of a 2.5 gen pre runner. Have not looked on the fuel rail to see if there might be a strainer filter in it. Someone who has taken a 4.0 apart might know. So, it is true that the chinsy fuel pump toilet paper filter is 100% there and maybe to only filter in the fuel system.

Poor design imo. If the tank one fails, all the crap goes straight to the fuel rail and into the stupidly expensive injectors...

yup that's why the URD kit is so popular even for guys that don't need the high flow fuel pump it comes with, they just want the external fuel filter that it's designed with

I get and have always gotten about 13.7 mixed driving or so and 17 all highway, both with and without the supercharger, without and WITH armor and my OE equal sized 32 load range E tires.

I chalked it up as normal.

Usual range out of the tank before I trip the light on is between 208-225 miles per tank.

They change the gas formula everywhere, Louisiana too.

What do you consider proper PSI? The door jamb may say 29-32 PSI, but that is for best ride in an empty truck. If you look on the tires most P rated tires say 44 PSI max pressure and that is meant for carrying heavier loads. I run 38-40 PSI all the time. The ride is a little stiffer, but it makes 2-3 mpg difference in my experience. Plus if i have to haul or tow a heavy load I'm already inflated and don't have to stop and add more air to the tires.
