Well last night got a little boring. So I decided I was going to build a sub box out of the scrap 3/4 mdf i had laying around for dual 10" to fit behind my bench seat. Ive only completed the back board as of now. Got to get more mdf probaly sometime this week. But here are some specs on it.
    1. I started out by removing jack stand, seat tethers and middle seat belt. Be sure to not remove these with strong human force, or you will have a hole in the back of your truck. Trust me. I would use some sort of dremel tool blade to cut it out. Or possibly drill it out if you dnt mind a few .1875" holes in the back of your rc.
    2. I cut the back board to arch with the floor 47"L 11.75"W. It wouldnt go into place like something in the floor was obstructing it from fitting. After peeling the carpet back, I notice a verry hard putty/cement like raised in the floor. Not really sure what that is but it wasnt covering anything.. So I went about chiseling at it with a flat head and it busted right up.
    3. After I got it placed, I built a notch for the tether bar to sit in. Extrudes out 1.5"x2.5"x1.5". I then cut my last back piece 47"L x 6"W.
    4. After dry fit, i finally glued and screwed everything and she fits good and tight. I know it isnt much right now but im pleased with the little outcome I have.
Questions I have: Ported or not?
If ported were would be the best place to vent top or bottow?

Might want to move this to the audio forum.
In my opinion, no port. To get it right you need to know ALL the specs of your speaker. see this link. http://sound.westhost.com/tsp.htm
You need to know the exact volume of your box and then you need to use a calculator to figure out the port length and diameter. Sealed are just easier and your box works as a damper for the speaker, helping prevent the speaker from bottoming when you over drive it.

It also depends on the specs of the sub you use...whether it was designed for port or sealed. I'm curious why you decided on dual 10" vs single 12"

Myself...I'm thinking of a sub under the seat or when I get my bucket seats installed I might get a custom center console sub that way there's room in the back of the seats.
